Ok so here is the story. I bought this 1990 240sx and the guy says that the Compressor is not working so he gave me a brand new compressor from Nissan. Ok i slap that sucker in, get the AC charged and the AC works fine, everything works perfect, so a week later i was driving home on the freeway and i hear a PSHHHHHHHHHHH... Turns out all the freon leaked out of this plug for some reason...

OK so i charged the AC again and it kept leaking out of that plug, so i went to the junk yard got a new plug, put it in, charged the system and everything was fine until 30 min later, then this line came apart or something and now all the freon was leaking of of there, WTF!!!??

So basically what i notice is that this fan is not coming ON when the AC is ON and i think that its supposed to whenever the AC is working.. right?

Also i looked in the FSM and i came across this picture...

my car doesnt have a "Condenser Fan Motor" or maybe im looking for it in the wrong place.. is this condener fan supposed to be located in between the clutch fan and mounted in front of the radiator? if it is, then its missing.. is this the problem? Is this why the freon was coming out of that plug and why i blew that hose because there is no fan cooling the Condenser? or could it be a fuse somewhere or a relay, i dont know what do do anymore. Can you guys please help.
Alex

Ummm, your condenser fan appears to be in place. :loco:

Check to see that your condenser fan spins freely. Upon removal of most of the rest of my A/C stuff I tried spinning mine, and no go. It took quite a bit of force to get it to turn, and even then it didn't spin freely. It just moved an inch and got stuck again. Mine is only a year older, could be happenin with yours.

no

that "plug" is a pressure release valve, the head temps in your ac system are going too high because your condensor fan is not coming on. your ac was probably colder when you were driving because air was being flown across the condensor, but sitting at a traffic light it wouldn't blow as cold because there's no air moving across the condensor. therefore your low side pressure builds and builds and builds till finally it finds the weakest link to escape from, thus why you have leaks. your condensor fan should run ANYTIME you have ac requested. that is your condensor fan in that picture you took. you need to first see if the fan motor is locked up by trying to spin the fan blades. if it is locked up chances are the fuse is blown as well, so after you replace it , replace the fuse also.

if your fan spins freely, then power it up and see if you can manually give it power and the fan will work, if it does, then the fan's fine. now you need to check if the fan is getting power to it when ac is requested, if it's not then you need to look at why? is there a wire burnt or broken? is your ambient air temp sensor bad (that's the thing behind the bumper that goes to one of those plugs) is your fuse blown? etc. if you don't get that fan blowing on the condensor when the ac is requested and that compressor's kicking on you're gonna keep popping hoses cause your low side pressure's gonna go through the roof.
good luck

ok i just checked to see if the fan spins freely and it does. I dont know how to power up the fan so i can see if it works...?? Also is this the "ambient air temp sensor"?

how do i check this and see if its working??
And slso is the fuse for the fan here? or is the relay supposed to be here? or am i looking in the wrong place?

get a test light and see if the plug that the fan plugs into is supplying power to the fan when the ac is requested. if it is and the fan doesn't work, read the manual (since you're printing pics from one i'm assuming you have one) and test the ambient temp sensor. if the fan is not getting power/ground when the ac is requested then you're having a wiring issue and you need to back trace the circuit until you find the broken wire/blown fuse/bad fan relay.

Nah...forget about the ambient sensor. Its only for reference and not really affects AC operation.

You should have a relay there!!, SOHC and DOHC have their AC (or auxiliary) fans located differently. If your fan is not working, pressures will rise and could cause rupture.
Wierd because the AC shop should checked that when refilling the system.
