Kill a Vett

I have an sr20det and one day i was driving around some kid with a vett pull up next me and he rev at me and i just look at him and i rev at him to.  When like the light turn green me and him both guned and hes like a car lenght a head of me already and i realize its a z06 so i was like fuck this punch into 2nd (hes like 1  1/2 car lenght away) and 3rd when i get 3rd at 5000 rpm somehow i caught up to him by 1/2 a car length and i was like god damnit so i punch it into 4th i just blow right by him.  Does the sr make a hell of more power in 3rd and 4th gear.  I'm running a f/m ic, downpipe, 3" exhaust, bov, intake, (STOCK BOOST)

a Z06 is a very fast vette....you sure it was a Z06??...

405 horsepower. Zero-to-60 in under four seconds.  Thats a Z-06.  Really, maybe he just had some fake badges or sumtn or he wasnt a good driver.  BUt hey, I dont want to underestimate the SR.  but still...seems like sumtn hard to do without turbo upgrade or sumtn'.  ANyways, good kill because its a newer gen corvette! I like the 60's vettes.  

P.S. Maybe he gave up at the end.  What kinda guy was he?  Ahhhh im tired, very sleepy.

i had a hard time beating a vette off of a stoplight...it was the previous body style...but it was a close race...barely beat him at 14psi....

hey civickilla, you don't know if it was a gran sport do you, a model of the vette in 1997, those things flew, ugly but fast, i hate the C4 body style

I don't think you will take even a base corvette with stock boost on an sr... Sounds to me like he just decided to stop racing and not go over the speed limit too much <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

That's exactly what it sounds like to me! &nbsp;Me thinks he dumped the throtle <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> &nbsp; Stock boost on an SR can't touch a Z06
But hell having an SR is half the battle (not to take anything away from you KA24DET gents <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Impossible. We have video of my roomate in his 400hp GSX racing a Z06 on the highway and they were neck and neck. His GSX would keep up with vipers, your little stock SR cant compete with that. My old s14 KA-T would keep up with vipers and possibly a z06, on the highway, not off a start.

Now now, he was just asking if the SR made more power in 3rd and 4th, everyone doesn't need to start saying that he's bs and what have you. &nbsp;It does sound like he simply stopped accelerating at the end, that was the impression I got instantly, before I read any other posts.

At least you have an SR though, I'm still stock (engine wise).

Yea it wasn't a Z06 cuz i saw the same kid today and it was an older vette. &nbsp;I talk to him he said it was an 95's vett and he said it was the best one or something and it had over 300 hp i dunno thats what he says. &nbsp;I talk to him about to the race and he said he was gunning it so who knows

I have a 9 incher some throaty ass home-made intake constructed with pvc pipe and aluminum foil, and a cardboard intercooler. Man that intercooler looks mean, especially since I recently spray painted it to look even more real. I had a tough time making each individual cardboard fin for it, but the time it took for such attention to detail was worth it!!



(just think about that 90 civic hb that had the 2x4 wing, cardboard body kit, and 2 liter pepsi bottle NOS can)
