hey i wuz wondering if this is a good price for a sr20det:
"We sell engine kits, (motor complete, trans, computer, uncut wiring harness and ignitor.) Swap kits ( motor complete, trans, computer, un-cut wiring harness, ignitor and complete stock intercooler setup. Engine kits $2400 and Swap kits $2800 plus shipping and taxes" McKinney Motorsports
or
http://www.heavythrottle.com
"they all come with trans, MAFS, all electronics and
ignition parts. Under 40,000 miles is the typical engine, sometimes a lot under - our importers get the cream of the crop."

mckinneymotorsports is a good company from what i have heard and they frequent the forums...i'd say it's a pretty good price and depending on where you live, i'd let them do the install as well...but you should always shop around...

But seriously, I've never heard anything but PRAISE for the crew over there, they have been recommended to me and being the best SR swap shop on the west coast by several people.

Impact, where are you from... In the Montreal area, a couple of shops can get you the engine, for say, around 2400$CDN (doesn't include ECU, Intercooler)

Grumpy,

I live in LA... Do you recommend a blacktop s13 or an s14 sr20det (I have an s14)? How much for the install, and is there any kind of warranty?

along these lines... I'm getting into a 95 240se and had planned to replace the 2.4 with a blacktop sr20det next year. would there be any issues going from the s14 to a s13 motor?

Nope, no issues at all. In fact, that's one of the most common swaps. Ricky Chu and William Law of Kyosho Racing used to have red top SR20DET's in their S14's. It's probably easier too since you don't have that "variable valve timing" crap to tinker with if you're gonna tune it.

IMPACT: Sorry if I didn't get back to you. Can you please write me again. I have just been so busy here at SONY and the shop. The SIlvia front end is $950 and you have your choice on lights. I will also be getting some fiberglass and carbo fiber hoods for the S13 Silvia. Again SORRY!

DragonReborn214: I would do the S14 motor since you have a S14. For price and stuff please write or call the shop. ASk for "Mack".

The SR20DET is currently not legal in Cali. I am working on getting E.O.#'s to make it legal in Cali. It will take a few months though...and a lot of $$$$$$$$......

catfishez: There is no issues going with a S13 black top in your S14. Just the wiring. I would do a S14 SR just because you have a S14. But that is up to you.

If anyone plans on doing a real high HP SR then I would do a S13 or disconnect the VVT on the S14. But either way will work. The VVT works off of your speed and changes timing to that, but you could use a Rev box and make it change when ever you want.

The S13 motors complete go for $2400 US. Thats motor, tranny, complete harness, ECU, and MAF. We also carry the stock intercoolers.

ANymore questions please let me know.
