would it be safe to run 265 tires on a g35 18x8 wheel if the sidewall was very stiff like a Falken Azenis tire? or is it not recommended to go fatter than a 255 no matter what?

why would you run 265 on a 8 inch wide rim? If you want it for looks or whatever your reasoning is, I don't think higher then 245 would be safe.

ya, on a 8, a 265 is to big. It can be done but would look like ass on a 18.

I am going to put 275s, on a 8, but they well be D/R or slicks on a 15 inch weld.

the size may fit, but keep in mind how the tire will wear and how the road is where you drive(potholes).

205-45 fits perfect on a 9in.

Way to big for the rim. Unless you want to see the tire fly off the rims on the free way, I would suggest you either ditch your rims for something wider or ditch your tires for something slimer.

Actually, 225's were for the fronts. They were 8"

The rear's on a G are 8.5" and run a 245.

This thread is gay.

Stretching tires is gay and is a fad that will die.

Square fit tires ftw. 255 = 9 inch rim. 275 = 10 inch rim. 235/245 = 8 inch rim

I've seen a 285 on a 8 inch lol...

My dad runs a 225/50/16 on his 6" lol. It's perfectly fine.

Stretching is not fine and needs to die!

255 is not equal to 9 inch rim. Do you even know how to convert inches into millimeter? Do you even know why people stretch tires? Mind you, not all of us run Viceroy stretch.

Gee that is amazing because I am reading the factory spec sheet for a potenza re050 and it lists the measured rim width on a 255/40/18 to be 9" and the measured rim width on a 255/45/18 to be 8.5"

so I think the manufacturer knows more then you

Given they you know engineered and manufactured the tire and all

this should not be a stretched/squared tire debate

the guy got his answer, and yes a 265 will fit on a 8 inch wide rim just fine
