Such is life when your fixing up a 15+ year old car.

Maybe its not the fact that it hates you but its the fact that you didnt pay enough attention to detail when you bought it.

So when buying a car, its a good idea to look under it, to see if the bolts to the cat. have rusted to shit...sounds like "sound" car buying advice.... :jerkit:

Anywho, MR. H, i think that your car is just showing you some tuff love...

It doesn't want to let go of the cat, like rose and jack dawson in Titanic.

Rose: "Draw me like your one legged prostitute jack"

... 10 hours later

Rose: "Jack no! Don't drown""

Jack: "Live on rose, make lots of babies"

Jack: "Blghhh gargle gargle buble buble"

Rose: "JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!"

Celine Deon: "Here, far, whereeeeeeeeeeeeeever you are .......... My heart will gooooo OOOOOOOOOOon"

you're bitching b/c you can't get the cat bolts loose

go to nico with that shit...i'm sure they have 4 or 5 FAQ's and writeups about how to take the bolts off.

Maybe a support group for those who can't get it too.

The car is just testing you to see if you're worthy enough to own it.

When I installed my downpipe and test pipe I ran into plenty of rusted bolts that snapped off but I already had new ones for just such the occasion.

Not saying its some sound car buying advice. But a rusted bolt isnt something to start a thread over. If i found rust anywhere in my car, I wouldnt start a thread on it, just fix and move on in life. All joking aside, we are buying cars that are 10-15 years told, expecting everything to be fine and dandy is plain stupid. If you cant handle something small like a bolt, what will happen when you have to change a alternator or starter.

And to the thread starter, no disrespect, just voicing out my opinion. Im pretty sure you will find more countless problems with your car. We all do! So we are all in the same boat. We just dont post threads about it. Good luck!

what

in NJ its common practice to bring a dremel and drill when you are swapping an exhaust

the cat bolts will almost always be rusted into little lumps of metal

Took me a few hours to swap a chuki and zenki front end today...

Rust don't help, but usually if you have a little help...it goes smoother.

Torch the fuckers off and get new ones.

Or continue to break your knuckles.

Just be happy its not a stock SR exhaust manifold gasket. Your definitely gonna wanna sell the car if that shit hits the fan.

i wasn't really bitching, just commenting on how projects are never as easy as they seem when you start them. Not that i'm supprised, as was said its a 12 year old car and shit happens. didn't mean to bother anyone just a bit of venting. After all this is that chat section you all are the only ones I "know" who care about cars more than did it get me to work. again was just venting not supprised it was rusted or that its giving me troubles.

For those of you who took the post as was intended...cool ;)

I busted countless knuckles on my 240, it comes with the car- you wont learn anything. Through pain you find pride.

to prevent bloody knuckles, follow the rule. Pull the rachet whenever possible, and always push with an open hand.

Haha yeah, every time I do a swap its like my hands came out of a meat grinder, and the whole time I never felt a thing. Putting heater hoses on a motor when you have it bolted down already is especially harsh on one's hands.

We need to take the issue up w/ Oprah and address it head on. Maybe she can pay some big named therapist to offer closure to Mr. H.

juss messin again
