Power steering Lines!! (which ones?)

Ok, so recently i've decided that muscleing my way through turns is not fun. So i've decided to get powersteering for my SR'd S13. The only problem is that lines are hard to find under $200. So i've found these and thought they might be a good idea as well as a good investment, the only problem is that one is like $65 dollars more than the other. I was wondering if anyone has used either one of these, or has any inside info on why which one is better?

both look nice, i would go with the one that dose not have the huge mark up. IMO i think the mamsparts and the DD are the same one just cost more cuz its blue with anaodized fittings.

$140 for just the high pressure line is fucking retarded, no matter how pretty it is. You can buy a replacement line from Advance auto for about $65, but then you'll still need the cooling line, return hose, and the reservoir.

And FYI, I had the local Aeroquip retailer make me a high pressure hose deleting the pressure switch because it looks cleaner IMO for $23 by using the OE line's fittings and brazing them on to new fittings.

Been interested in putting some -an lines together with a cooler and everything. Is the inlet and outlet sizes the same on 200sx and s13/s14 racks? Thats what I didnt know but looks like they are:

1 -6AN to 14MMx1.5 adapter (RUS-670520)
2 -6AN to 16MMx1.5 adapter (RUS-670530)

I was told that they were, also if ur goin that way summit is sold out of the 6' line until the 24th :-/ so mine wont even go out until then

I am still putting the kit together on paper. But I will be redoing the whole system with an aftermarket resevoir and a cooler.

Just ordered my lines for the high pressure side from summit. I went with russel powersteering lines, they are braided steel and made for this purpose and I can cut to lengther so they will work out perfect. running -6 on the high pressure side. Probably weld a -10 bung to the pump supply and run all stainless lines in the future and a canton baffled resevoir and a powersteering cooler. But for now this will get my s13 powersteering working.

my low pressure side was 16x1.5 my high pressure side was 14x1.5 I think my s14 is this way also so I am not sure.

fittings i think i used

4 -6 90 degree
2 -8 45 degree
2 rack adapters (1 was w/ the ma motorsports setup)
the hp was 2 90 degree (ma motorsports included)
and pump fitting (ma motorsports included)

garage works welded the -8 on my return for ps pump.

Looks clean Aaron, what is the part number for that cooler and how much was it? I have my high pressure side done and am just using heavy duty rubber hose for the low pressure side right now since I was too cheap to buy the resevoir and cooler when I am not even driving the car yet :)

my setup was totally around 400some
its pricey but over the weekend it felt awesome
no overflowing now!

its those damn an fittings! SO EXPENSIVE like 15-25 bucks for some!!

at least its not -10 like the oil cooler! they were something around 25/fitting! UGH!!

Could there be any issues with boiling the ps fluid without the cooler because of the shorter lines? I ordered just the lines from summit since I kinked the high pressure line when I took it off. I know the low pressure line goes all over the place for cooling purposes, would it be better to just leave it till I get a cooler?

I think alot of the boiling over problem isnt nescesarily boiling over but the shitty stock resevoir. I finished up the s13 setup did -an all through but used barbed adapters on the low pressure side and some double lined fuel hose for now. Since I havnt ordered a cooler yet. But I have the line and just need to order the fittings and the cooler to do the low pressure side. Since it will be a while since that car is tracked I didnt want to spend the money right now. But I def. think a higher capacity resevoir with the corect baffling will be way better than stock and stop the spilling problem almost everyone has.

So if you decide to add a PS fluid cooler like dousan..... would the oem cooling loop still be needed?? Or would it be fine with out it since it has the big cooler in the front??
