Hey, guys. I tried searching but couldn't find anything close to what was goin on with my car. It's an S13 hatch with KSport coilovers, Megan suspension links all around. On the front driver side, everything is stupid tight seeing as how it was all just replaced. When I go to tighten the bottom strut mounts, I push in on it to gain the negative camber you get from that. Tighten them down REALLY tight. With the wheel on, you can see a considerable amount of negative camber. I'd go for a drive, and when I park the car, the wheel is standing straight up.. as in almost 0 camber!! http://images.nicoclub.com/forums/images/smilies/wtf.gif

Anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to what's happening??

Any positive input will be VASTLY appreciated!!
Thanks in advance!

Checked them. Loosened and re-tightened. As I also did with the nut in the middle of the camber plate that sits on top of the shock piston. Of course, while securing the piston.

Can you put loctite?

I can try that. Would that have any other effects on the bolt? I know they lock the threads and whatnot. Would that make it near impossible to remove them in the future?

Irax, I agree. This is "hella whack" as you so eloquently put it. Which is why I'm trying to get advice to get this fixed. Thanks for your input.

They could just be backing out when you drive. That's what loctite would help. If not contact your dealer.

Ok. I've never used it before. Just apply it to the threads on the bolt then torque it all down again?

yeah, give it some time to settle before you go driving though.

Loctite was a no go. I was thinking of trying a lock washer. Yay? Nay?

Hmmm. Just call up the people you bought it from at this point and tell them you want a replacement. lol

That's what I would do.

Wait so you have the camber plates maxed out to negative and you still aren't getting the negative camber???

Because you really shouldn't have to rely on adjusting camber from the bottom mounting point.

If you have upper camber adjustment (camber plates) this should work better than anything. Get an alignment.

The problem is that regardless of how the camber is set.. camber plate or the bottom mount.. the bottom mount always shifts.

lol. I thought you meant the top was shifting.

Are the bolts for the bottom mount the correct size for the inside of the hole?

you can get a set of CAM bolts to replace the top bolts in the struts. they come with locking tabs so they wont slip and youll get an extra +-.75 degrees of adjustment. ive ran these for 4 years now with no issues.

if he has regular bolts then no matter how the bolt spins its going to be the same. It sounds like you have some bad cam bolts.

That's why I was asking him to check the bolts. lol

Let us know!

I'd assume they are the proper size as the suspension was never touched til I went to put coilovers on. Today, however, I went out and just decided to try to tighten every single nut and bolt on that corner of the car. Discovered my aftermarket tension rod bolts had loosened a bit.. tightened those. My sway bar end link was not really loose, but could be tightened some more.. done. And the nut on the top of the coilover that sits on the piston was loose.. tightened while being careful not to spin the shaft. We'll see what happens. I came across some other nuts from my OEM tension rods that look like they have a larger contact area.. dunno what to call it.. but the end of the nut that would be pressed against the coilover mount. I was thinking if that'd help at all. Thanks for the advice on the cam bolts. That'll be next if this re-tightening of everything doesn't work.
