Hi. I literally just got these a few days ago, from another 240 owner, but my clutch is slipping, and has gotten much worse, so I am going to have to scrounge up every little bit that I can, before it is reallly too late. Just about all the following information in this thread, is that of the For Sale thread that I purchased from; it was a great thread, I figured I would provide the same information to other members, that I was provided for my purchase.
Where are these from and why are they JDM?
These lights come off of front clips that are imported into the USA or brought over when people go to Japan. I have been dealing with importers for a while and they don't get these very often because people have just been sending the motors over. They send over an entire shipping container that holds 20+ engines and parts as compared to MAYBE 1/2 that if they shipped over the whole front clips. Furthermore, these front clips become damaged as they move in the container or in the shipping process as don't usualy make it out in working condition. On top of it all, Japan has done away with "pick a parts" or "wrecking yards" and they simply rip the motors out of these cars. Clips are becoming more rare. They are off of a 180SX from Japan that had its clip sent here to the USA.
How are they different?
As you can see on your stock sidemarkers you have flat versions. Somewhere in the DOT code they mandated that they had to be flat for some reason. I don't know the code, so don't ask, I just assume this was a mandatory change or they would NOT have gone through the hassle for no reason. The Japanese version are raised as compared to flat and for the true S13 collector, you know what these are.
What condition are they in?
I took the off of my car in working condition. The color of the lenses are as good as original and has not faded nor has the seal on the light iteself been compromised. One light has a surface crack that extends partly across the light, but does not actualy penetrate the complete layer of plastic. It is not visible unless you know it is there and are looking for it. These are OEM automotive light fixtures and are meant to withstand years of use and will withstand further years of use after you put them on.
Will they fit your car?
If you have an S13. This will work for the pignose or the chuki versions of the S13. They literaly clip into the car and contain a wiring harness. One side is a DIRECT plug n' play, the other side is a simple splice and I have already wired it with "butt connectors" to make your install that much easier.
How about Pricing/Shipping Information?
I will be charging the same amount that I purchased them for, $46.00 Shipped. These usually go for about $60.00-$70.00, just to let you know. The price reduction is because of the mentioned cosmetic crack in one of the lenses but as mentioned before, it is cosmetic only and not visible unless you are on the mission to find it. (I CAN VOUGE FOR THIS! I held it arms length away and if I didn't know it was there, I bet I wouldn't have noticed it.)
