After buying my car only last friday, this friday night my engine blew for no apparent reason. Just turned 60,000 miles on the engine, no blue smoke coming out, not burning oil, engine wasn't over heating, just a rod threw and my block is cracked so im fucked.
Now I'm probably gonna buy a Jasper built engine, not a SR20. The Jasper engine is blue printed and everything is correct within 1/1000. Also it comes with a 3 year/75,000 mile warranty. But for now I'm back to the old '84 Jeep CJ-7.

That sucks bad. Can you get the jasper engines with forged internals?

Its a stock KA24DE engine but with totally new internals, everything is new but the block its self, and it is all balanced and blue printed for perfection and a little more power. Thier more powerful and stronger than the stock engine would be, so I might have about 165hp instead of the stock 155, and a little more bulletproof engine.

So who do you go through?? How much is all this? Where are they located? This is actually pretty intresting, I might have to get one (dependent on price) to mess with.

Sounds good for a KA-T

Maybe if those new internals have a lower compression then stock.

Jasper is a famous name, they even make nascar engines luey. There out of Indiana, go to there website. It tells you what all they do to the engines before they sell them. It is very nice, jsut read it, its probably not as awesome as some of yall are making it out to be but it is better than the regualr OEM engine. Sorry i don't have there website link but i don't fell like looking for it, do a search threw yahoo, its there believe me.

my cousin had a jasper engine put in his 87 firebird formula. it's a good engine. people do say they have a little more power. they bore the engine a little to smooth the walls n stuff.

but i don't think they would rebuild a KA that would hold more boost than a factory KA would, for the general public. that takes time an money.

exactly james, the engine is very good, there is also a guy on here that got one in his old camaro and he siad the jasper engine is awesome. But its not gonna be anything spectacilar to hold a greater amount of boost to hold a KA-T. But I can't wait for my car to live again, thats all i care about.
