Hi everybody, I just got my engine rebuilt S14 SR20DET, the block was bored to 87mm with 9:1 compression pistons, I had a 3 angle valve job, briancrower valve spring and retainers, rocker arm stoppers. My mechanic put the HKS step 2 cams 264 intake, 272 exhaust and said that the egine RPM on idle will rev at 1800rpms. I want to know if anybody with this same setup with cams experiences the same problem or if this is normal. Please tell me around what RPM your car revs on idle (i know it will be a rough idle). Thanks, any help is appreciated.

You can obtain a much lower idle. It is more dependant on management and injector type and size.

no, ive run this setup, never had this problem.

If anything it likes to idle low, your mechanic is a fuckhead.

pm me.
