i just picked up an 89 240sx with an unfinished sr20det swap, and im having some problems. After gettin all the wiring hooked up, set the CAS timing and getting fluids in, i tried to prime the oil by pulling the plug on the CAS and spark plugs, then turning it over with the starter. After putting things back together it fired a few times but wouldn't run... NOW turning the crankshaft over by hand is really hard... it takes a breaker bar and some real muscle... i didnt try to turn it over by hand first, so i could have been like this the whole time http://www.sr20forum.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
Ive searched and it seems like it could be something like worn bearings or a bent rod... any ideas would really help. thanks

you're crankshaft is going to be hard to turn over by hand whatever you do. Make sure you're not stuck in gear first, afterwards get the motor to top dead center then put your CAS in. Sounds like thats your problem since thats really the only thing you messed with.
Try messing with your CAS first, maybe you've missed it by a tooth, then dig deeper.

compression was around 150 on all four... its in neutral, the starter is turning it over, and it will fire... ive tried moving the CAS around alittle after i set it following all the web tutorials like heavythrottle's and a few that i read on this site...i dont think its the CAS. i guess i could try it again... I'm just starting to worry about doing damage to the engine because it seemed like something isnt moving freely

pull out the spark plugs and then try turning it over. no compression = should be fairly easy to turn.

Try swapping you CAS with a known good one my buddys had a same prob, it wasnt running for a year until I popped one of mine in and now it runs great.
