What tranny oil should i use for my rb25 transmission / recommended?
and how do i drain / put it in ? I think it already is draind because
while motor was lifted for the drop . oil leakd from the drive shaft input on the tranny . Could i fill up the oil from the shifter hole ?

there is a drain plug on the bottom of the tranny pan. Even if the tranny was drained its normal for a bit of fluid to run out the input shaft area when tilted. You can fill up either from the fill plug on the tranny itself- using a cheap fluid pump makes it easier, or through the shifter hole

I run royal purple 75w90

as for filling it, don't use the filling plug. just take your shifter out (its only 1 clip and shazam its out) alot easier than the other way

I bought some GM sychromesh but my tranny isn't back in to test it... not trying to threadjack but is the shifter supposed to seal off the transmission because my leaks fluid from the ball joint?

I wouldn't use GM syncromesh. My transmission is now notchy because I used syncromesh. Use redline mt-90 or any other quality gl-4 based fluid you can find.

Also, napa sells a gl-4 lubricant and it is cheap. No clue on the quality of the product.

Interesting, I've been using GM Syncromesh in my S14 since 2002 and it actually made my tranny shifts smoother. It also got rids of the 3rd gear grinds. I beat the crap out of my car everyday and the tranny is still good with the syncromesh in it.

75w-140 synthetic

back in the sr day's i went through trannies using 75-90, redline mt90 car only had 240hp.

switched over to 75-140 synthetic , no problems since , i've been running this set up since march and fyi i'm on an rb20 transmission. no problems at all.
