I'm planning on doing a full brake rebuild, and I am thinking of just upgrading to front Z32 30 mm brakes. Just trying to figure out if my 1992 S13 SE alloys will clear them or not.

Thanks guys,
Luke

depends on the wheels.. there are two types. one works one doesnt, the difference is in the back of the spokes. theres a thread about it somewhere on here.. that thread also said 30mm dont work but the smaller ones do

No shit. :D

I live in Falmouth, but I am in Florida for the summer. I miss the Maine "foliage," so to speak. ;)

Thanks a ton!

So may replies no real answers. lawl.

z brakes won't fit s13 se wheels.

They do fit s14 se wheels though.

I checked my wheels and the spokes have two ribs on the outer edge of each spoke...

Couldn't really tell from the conversation which ones they are. They said something about an asymmetrical stabilizer.

only the 26mm z32 calipers will clear certain stock S13 SE wheels. and there are 2 versions, the double ribbed version and the single offset ribbed version. youre looking for the single offset ribbed version.

any particular reason why you're getting 3z brakes? did your stock brakes go out on you?

My brakes need a rebuild. I decided I would go ahead and jump on better front braking system for the future.

Right now i'm looking at Q45 brakes. The reason I want them to clear the stock wheels is because I currently don't have aftermarket wheels, and because I will want to be able to use my stockers for winter wheels.

Thanks everyone,
Luke

yeah, q45's clear everything and don't give up much, if anything to 3z except pad selection

really though, if ur not tracking the car or anything, u could probably get a set of s13 calipers for free from another owner, dont need an upgrade

I need to overhaul the braking system anyway, and I figured since I plan on going KAT in the near future, I should do this now versus think about it later. :wiggle:

This might help

Wheels that clear brakes look like this:

Wheels that don't clear look like this:

Hmm.

Now I can charge more for certain s13 se's.

Sweet.

DriftMotion,

thanks a lot for the pictures. Q45s should fit both though from what I understand. Z32s not so much. :)

Too late, I just bought remanned loaded calipers with new brackets for $130 shipped on ebay...

Along with... brembo blanks front and rear, rebuild for the rear S13, SPL stainless lines, SPL stainless clutch lines, ATE brake fluid, and bleeders for brakes + clutch. :bigok:
