I just got another project 240 which happened to come with abs. This car is destined to be a track whore so I am wondering if it is possible to conveniently remove, or deactivate the ABS system without the car freaking out (the ECU confusing itself or physically sucking at braking)?
Thanks guys...

Just get new NON ABS brake lines and a new master.

OEM parts = the dealer. Did you really need to ask that?
The ECU doesn't care if the ABS is gone, two completely different systems that are unrelated.

Mandoz and R240NA have it.
Just get non-abs hardlines and a non abs master cylinder. I got mine from pick n pull. if you just unplug and remove the abs controller and you'll be good

No.
The control unit can't do anything if it's not powered up.

I currrently have no abs not because i removed it but because i was an idiot when i did my sr20 harness. if u unplug one of the 4 sensors u effectively disable it. how bout this if u dont want it bad enough trace the abs plug for the front passenger side, remove the portion of the wirering harness that goes to the plug and send it to me ;)

if your not gonna use the ABS unit you might as well ditch the 20lbs associated with it. i removed the ABS from my car, really simple, just go buy a new non ABS BMC, then run new lines to where the passenger and rear terminated by the ABS pump, and run a new line from BMC to driver front. running brake lines is mad easy, no need to half ass this.

Werd in my opinion brakes are number one. you cant go half ass on those.
I wouldn't trust that thing unplugged.
plus -20lbs on the front axel never hurt anyone.

Thanks for all the info, basically what I am thinking is, I might has well go get a 300ZX master cylinder since I am going to be upgrading the brakes anyhow, but which one should I get? (also will have to get non abs lines for 240sx)
