In the rear, it can be used to tilt/angle the plate up.

Made of Stainless Steel, so it wont rust or discolor like other brands. Very durable! Comes with all necessary hardware, and has an easy to follow instruction guide.

Since this item comes from Japan, the holes are drilled for Japanese license plates. It will need to be drilled to accomodate U.S. vehicles and license plates.

In Japan, that was the original purpose. On the highways in Japan, majority of speeding tickets are recorded by cameras. So if you have a tilted plate, it made it harder to recognize the plate. After some years, a lot of the high-end luxury cars came factory equipped with a number plate frame that was tilted down. So now it has become a popular modification in Japan.

But the real answer to your question: It provides front end lift to reduce front tire wear.:bs:

yokotas13: I bought 4 of them when I was in Japan, but I ended up getting the "air-thru" number plate bracket instead. But right now I have 3 available.

driftage240: I dont think the mounting holes will fit on a chuuki bumper (I've never actually tried it) Some cars have two pairs of holes for their license plates (i.e. Hondas), if you have that, then the mounting side will bolt in no problem. No pics on an S13. Located near Cal State Fullerton, or you can come by my work in Huntington Beach
