hydrolic E-Brake

I was wondering what is the general opinion on converting to hydrolic E-brakes for the S-14

I am going to do brake upgrade with brembo calipers (from an R33 GTR, got it for free) with Project Mu dics. Then a friend suggested switching the E-brakes to Hydrolic ones using the calipers to lock up. I was considering this since it may be easier to do (instead of dealing with the drum e-brake, which I still need to purchase).

What do you guys think, use the drum ones or the hydrolic ones?

in your scenerio seems like hydrualic e-brake would make sense....thats what im doing with my drift car as well because i got s15 rear calipers and the ebrake cables dont work with the s13 chassis.

less effort, but if u cant do that with stock (and yes stock is easy to make work FANTASTIC)
then you shouldnt be drifting.

just upgrade your stock rear with nice pads lines and get a staging brake for the cabin.

same thing as hydro, its inline slave, so you still use brakes as normal but u can use just rear by pulling the handle.

really no need to upgrade rear to bigger, most braking is in the front. imho.

I just installed a hydro e-brake in my track car! A real lot of work is involved to get it in/working right but i think its rad!

and wether or not it works better is a matter of opinion.


I bought the kit from Driftworks in the UK, its got a smaller master than the bonerjam CNC kits, so we'll see if it haves the controllability that dousans talking about.

Its not hard to install if you use stainless steel flexible lines instead of hard line. the is a place in the front to hook in to and a place in the rear pretty straight forward.

what's wrong with drum brakes in the back??? i just installed them on my car and they work perfect. I was considering using a hydro e-brake but why do that when there's something offered stock from nissan. plus using a drum brake for like drifting would be nice cause u don't heat up the caliper to lock up the wheel during lets say drifting... can't beat two with one...

i'm not sure if i make any sence to any1 i'm kinda exhausted from work...

its true,

you can scrub off some speed with out Fully locking up the rear, it gives you a little more control, rather than an On Off situation,

you should just stick with the stock ebrake drum setup, and call it a day.

Personally I think more control could be had if everyone didn't use those lightning-pole-long e-brake handles, and a smaller slave, like some kits come with.

You mean something like this? Im using a cncbrakes.com hydro staging brake for my ebrake. I believe there is a write up on this particular one on here some where so all your question can be answered! if not pm me and ill answer them!

I've had my hydro e-brake for the last 5 events and I love it! The whole project cost around 300 bucks. One thing about the unit is before you install keep in mind that after you bleed it the throw is shortened alot.

You can see how I spliced into the rear brake line with braided line for ease of install.

Instead of guessing about leverage before you even install it, try it first then adjust as needed.

I don't see the need for any of this, an ebrake is just a parking brake. Park the car, engage the brake. Hell I used to carry around a brick in the trunk, works fine, and really damn cheap too.

Drive my car next time we're at an event together. I run the CNC Brakes 3/4" inline brake with their handle braking Z32 rears with semi-metallic street pads, and I have tons of control. Can just give it a squeeze to balance the car in a corner, or slam it to instantly lock my 285/30/18 Pirelli PZeros.

Exactly the same process as a 240.

I can install this in anyone's car locally for less than $300, with the plate so your trans tunnel won't flex. I even got my interior pieces to fit around it with just a tiny bit of cutting. Being able to modulate the rear wheels easier than turning down the volume on the radio is the shit.
