SOHC jumping idle, smokes white and black

Lately ive noticed my idle has gone up and now it tends to rise very slowly to about 1200 rpms then acts as if it pressure or something has been released and jumps back down to regualr idle. i had a vacuum leak but i have since covered it with rubber glove pieces and clamp. Also when i sit at a light at idle for longer than a few seconds, i push the gas and the car sort of bogs down and then comes to life and sometimes blows black smoke and other times blows white smoke. does anyone have any input on this? :confused:

you might want to fix you vacuum leak with a little more then just pieces of a rubber gloves and a clamp.
you might be running rich as fuck probably due to your 02 sensor not even being pluged in.
if it's bogging when you stomp on the gas you might want to check your fuel filter.

i noticed today while the motor is idling if i mess with the hose directly under the egr valve( i think its the gold circle disc at the back of the intake mani?) the idle begins to jump up and down. also right before it jumps up i hear a burst of air or suction.
