I don't see it being much to people 'planning the conversion', since those people are beyond help.

You live in the US, converting a perfectly good chassis into a mail truck is fucking retarded.

I am looking for help not criticism; I've already read all the other rhd threads. if you can't help, please don't post because I don't want to get this thread locked. thanks

I wouldnt do it that way if I were you. Just relocate everything to the opposite side.

Yeah then your going to have alot of stupid holes open. Dude there is no right way to say but Its just cleaner if you cut out firewalls.

He's right. I woudl reweld some plates back in place of hte holes. Everyone does it differently. Good luck and be safe!

ive seen honda people that have done the conversion where they just drill out all the spot welds and pry it out... idk if they actually did any real cutting.

on here I see a lot of people that have drilled out the spot welds below the vin number and the plate but the windshield wiper is gonna be wiping the wrong way lol. I want to completely change the firewall which I know I would have to change the windshield

yeah and do you know how hard it is to find a rhd windsheild nearly impossible

i might could get my hands on one if the price was right.......

you should just buy a clip and cut the usdm car where or around the clip is cut and weld them together.

if your going to convert it dont do it this way. its not safe really unless you re drill holes and relocate the brake booster. cutting a perfect car in half and rewelding it to be jdm TyTe is not safe or smart.I hope you know its not going to be easy to drove the car. And if you do it right convert the e-brake to the right side convert the window controls to the right side.

i mean take a look at both ur cars wall and the clips, see if there is any like features where u cant find the spot welds, get a plasma cutter and hit that shit,

I get emails about RHD conversion, 1st thing I do when I read it is shaking my head.
Before you decide to do it research on why it suck to drive a RHD on the US roads.
There are 2 way to do a RHD conversion.
1. Mickey mouse way---take out dash, take out everything out under the dash, see where holes are, make it on the other side, fill the holes with things, you LOSE all heater/ac function.
2. the right way---buy a clip, rhd center console, rhd mirror, rhd door with panel, MOVE everything over and rewire everything.
so far I've only seen #1 because #2 cost too much and people who do the RHD swap is just for the oooooOOOO factor no one cares about quality.
But just to let you know that gets old fast.
Good luck,

Sam

Why does everything think this is for the JDM factor? I'd do this for the sole purpose of not having clearence issues with turbos and downpipes. It would also make the luxuries easier to have. Such as A/C. Which, if you like being comfortable while you drive, you'd appreciate that.

there is rhd converision manual that a shop sells on ebay, that should help if u want to pay

Then again, you could always just relocate everything to the RHD side. Like the brake booster and crap.

luis, you should get bigger pictures. The way luis does it will probably be the best in terms of quality. That is if you do it right. Most ppl will just swap everything over like i stated above and then reweld plates to cover up the holes.

you just drill out the spot welds on the firewall. that's how you take it apart from the area you have in circle. there's a few threads on RHD conversions on honda-tech. it's all done the same way. remove LHD firewall, weld in the RHD firewall, move the ebrake and trunk/gas latch.

!Zar!
07-05-2007, 05:22 PM
Technically it isn't legal for rhd.

The firewall isn't to be modified in any way.

eh... if i wanted a RHD car id be in england right now... But if thats what you want then go for it. Just dont let your insurance company know you did that. They might not take to kindly to that there modificationism boy, mmhmmm.

And honestly, when someone see's a RHD car, is the first thing they think "hey thats not legal?" But like adding a turbo or a bigger engine, the quality of the work is only as good as the quality of the craftsman. Good luck.

By the way, i see your dash is black: Would it be possible to maybe get that off you? Im always on the look out for parts...

i have a question? im going to get my alarm (viper) this coming monday, and i was just wondering when i do my convert do i have to take my alarm off? i dont want to pay installation fee twice. By the way keep up the good work! i need the thread later when i do my convert. hahaha Thanks for pics!

nrg
07-21-2007, 02:20 PM
of course you have to redo your alarm. all your wiring and fuse box will be on the right side of the car.

zoototheyork, the hard way is the right way. I bet you're thinking about just using the LHD firewall and drilling holes to fit everything to the right side?
If i wanted a RHD car, i'd just buy one; not that hard to come by.

Wow.......Dont school me on doing RHD conversion . Look Even closer with your eyes You can see I swaped the wipers over I just didnt have time to cut out the Plate that is welded in the fire wall for the wiper motor to bolt down to it................LOOK AT THE WIPER POSITIONS>:keke:

I see, dont forget the e-brake. trunk/gas latch, and side mirrors. fuse box and accessories wires going over to the right i bet?

I just hate to see janky conversions. there's three of them right now for sale on this forum. =X LHD wipers, no AC or heater because they used thei LHD firewall, etc.

if you cant wire your own car alarm you shouldnt consider doing a RHD conversion. leave it to the people who know what they are doing.
this one is coming out great. good work man, cant wait to see it finished.

swapping the wipers actually doesnt seem that hard. theres already a little area to drill the big hole.

what happened to the pictures? pm me or post the pics if you can cause i wanna see how you did the swap :)
