240RS Maxi First Hillclimb *Video*

I attended the first hillclimb with the 240 this weekend @ Mt. Okemo in VT. I imploded the diff on the first day after two runs and with the help of some nice people had it welded and up and running by 7am Sunday. My fastest run was good enough for 2nd but I jumped the start and got a 10 second penalty. My last run was going great until the dipstick popped up a little bit and sprayed oil onto the turbo. There was a little fire that followed but was quickly extinguished. Overall it was a great weekend and the most fun I have ever had driving.

DSG is using a twinscroll evo turbocharger (as in mitsu).

Their setup revolves about 300-350hp levels and max response.

Car also has straight cut gears, more on FA if your interested in their specific car.

The twin scroll evo turbos all drop off at higher rpm. Everything on the car is designed around low end so it tapers. For hillclimb it is absolutely insane, for circuit could use a little more top end for longer courses.

Have you looked into a td06 20G? It shouldn't make much of a difference in the low RPM band and it won't drop off as fast as the 16G. Just food for thought.

Definitely great driving! Way to keep the oversteer to a minimum. I'm guessing that most of us would not be able to do that.
