just picked up an 89 240sx, posted that up yesterday, in case you missed sr20 redtop, lowering springs otherwise stock suspension.

So anyways, when i take turns on the freeway, like on ramps and ramps to change freeways, it REALLY feels like the car wants to rotate, hard. A turn i take in my crossfire at 80 regularly felt scary at 55 in the 240sx, and i am a semi seasoned NASA guy.

So what could it be? Im not much of a tech guy (not at all actually, i can install shit but don't really know what does what, my roomate is a mechanic and out of town), what could it be? I was told on another form maybe its the steering rack and the 240's with springs only have pretty scary handling. I think im going to try and make it out to the next local meet and maybe someone can tell me, but i want to get this taken care of soon, plus my girlfriend offered to buy me some parts for our anniversary next week.

didn't buy it, leased it actually because it was only 299 a month, and was by far the best car at that price i could get. I only mentioned the nasa thing because its not like i was driving like an idiot and couldn't handle the suspension, just want to know what i should think of as top culprits.

and i hope you realize your response is a complete oxymoron, you say you can't answer me despite the fact you did answer me. But i don't want to argue with you, you have a skull with swords as your avatar and say mate, you are probably a pirate and might kill me.

If you get under there I'd check the sway-bar end links. The bushings, just look for loose shit, broken shit, and dried out rubber. Replace as necessary.

maybe it's the fact that you have lowering springs on stock struts... one or more of your struts are probably blown as of now, causing your car to handle like shit

the person you bought the car from should have searched

sway bars and struts and the car will handle alot better

mysterious car history.
could be alot of things.
my guess is your alignment is fucked up.

quick band aid = get it aligned.
real fix = make serious suspension alterations and then get it aligned.

Blown shocks. Try and buy another set (with springs mounted to make it easier) see what happens.

I would do a complete suspension tune up.. new bushings, sway bars, end links...and check for loose or broken parts.

And if it was installed with JUST lowering springs and no struts.. get new struts..

U said you work for NASA, and you know you gotta have some money.
Do shit right this time around.

My car do the same and it's a 96 SE. I got new coilover, steering rack bushings and subframe collar bushings and it still do the same thing.
Let me know when you find the problem.

^^^ lolz at the ppl who think NASA meant space agency. Go out to local tracks kids. NASA, SCCA, etc, are all good people.

As far as the suspension feeling shitty, there's no single cause JohnJohn. My suspension, for instance, feels like shit because I have a VERY worn tension control rod bushing... but x'ed's suspension felt like crap because he most certainly has blown struts and probably a bad alignment. If you've gotten coilovers JohnJohn you should have gotten an alignment (if not head down to see Justin @ West Covina Nissan) - that'll at least tell you where the problem is, if not completely solve it.

Hows the suspension on the space shuttle holding up?

Im going to guess tension rods as well.
although blown shocks is not far behind.

Start upgrading :D
