If my car overheated and there was steam shooting from under intake manifold..does this mean my headgasket blew again? :hs:

was getting ready to sell it too and recently got rebuilt 6 month's ago

not necessarily. Depending on what motor your talking about there are a few coolant lines that run under the intake manifold to include heater hoses. Could have a cracked hose or a pinhole leak.

Have you checked for oil/water mix on dipstick? compression check?

exactly. i had a leak on a valve to one of my heater core hoses.

follow his advice. doing so will let you know if you blew your headgasket.

I'll check the hoses. I've checked oil dipstick and its fine but I don't know how to perform a compression check. It's a KA btw

Been searching google a bit. I warm up car, remove all spark plugs stick in comp tester and crank? What do I do with the spark plugs, if I leave it out, won't they start sparking? Do I unplug the spark plug cables from the distrubutor? It's just the small things I don't understand.

double checked dipstick just now and it seems okay. I found the crack! It's on the hose on top from radiator to the motor I think (don't rmeember) However that crack was small, hopefully that's the only one. Couldn't see much through the cracks of the intake mani. Gonna replace that hose tomorrow and see how it goes. Thanks alot for the suggestion

may wanna buy a nice real coolant temp gauge.. that way it NEVER overheats again
