2. white smoke when shifting (eating oil bad i bet.. has 240k miles)
3. no sign of radiator leaks
4. leaks under the motor (coolant) probably fr the water pump..gasket??
5. the temp gauge jst shoot high after 5mins drive and coolant reservoir was boiling..
checked the dip stick..oil was dirty (black but not thick at all..) my guess head gasket aint blown..

dude .. you probably have a leak in the radiator oil cooler.. or you might have a bad head gasket, a cracked block, or a cracked head thats allowing oil to slip into the coolant passages, contaminating your coolant with oill .. or ... the easy way out ... try raplacing your water pump .. my shit was fucked up like that too .. reservoir was boiling coolant leaking and everything .. same symptoms .. get a new water pump.. it should fix the problem

Radiator Oil Cooler?? if bad head gasket shudn't it be clogged up the motor oil? i doubt was if the water pump was leaking would be tat bad..i mean the temp just increased tremendously..was keeping an eye on tat gauge..some dude who is mechanic told me i need radiator replacement..sounds bull crap..
let's say if the radiator was clogged..would it be tat crazy i mean the coolant temp..
i guess the motor almost done....haha

hey alex996, I had the same problem like last year, pissed me off, I droped the sr20det in last winter. Now I am happy!!!!!
the problem might be your headgasket is leak not blown. also be sure to check your heater core inside your your car to see any sign of leaking coolant. good luck!!!!

it's not a common problem you just have to remember that it's an old car it's just part of the game
If theres not water in the oil just R&R the head and gasket.
what the hell is a Hatchi?:tweak:

You may have a leaky headgasket. Check to see if you have oil in your reservoir or radiator or if you have coolant in your oil (when you change it). Does your car make a gurgling sound right when you turn it off? You said coolant is leaking, where is it coming from? Check your waterpump. Under the pulley there is a small hole in the waterpump called the weep hole. If coolant is coming out of here, you have to replace the water pump. The seal has gone bad. GL
