Damn near any diff that will lock is fine. It's not that hard.
Just make sure you have a clutch that's in shape to transmit power to the wheels.

my advice:
weld your diff first... its only about $50
then try it out see how you like it.
saves money.
personally i like it, other than the tire hop on slow turns.

yeah go welded. i think tire hop is more tolerable than having a loud clunking in the back from a 2way
