Ok, i've searched about 12 pages and did a manual search, and I can't figure out my problem. I've got a 93' fastback ka-det, t25 with stock internals, ecu with a lc1 wideband and gauge, safc2, sr injectors; and its been running great for about 5 months now, and its about 12lbs of boost but the other day I had a spurt of oil that came from my vent tube on my valve cover and pretty much covered my engine bay id say like a 1/8th to 1/4 of a cup, my worst realizations are that there is piston ring or blowby problems or possibly a cracked piston, but I cleaned it up and it seems to have a rough idle(not as smooth) but under boost it seems legit? Could it be a fluke or are my intuitions correct and my motor is going to pop? ANY insight will be greatly appreciated. Ask any questions and ill be glad to answer to the best of my ability.

Did you do a compression test?

blow by.. a little bit is usually normal on a boosted car.. take ^^ suggestion and get a catch can
if its pouring out you may have a problem.. compression check/leakdown may be in order.

Have not done a compression test but there is no loss of power, not pouring out, just did it that once. so if i run a catch can it just taps into that and returns where? ive never got the purpose of a catch can. I don't know maybe I thought it wasn't necessary.

Catchcan doesn't return it anywhere, just vents the fumes and holds the blowby oil in a can.

i had a similar problem. after finding low compression it ended up being cracked ring lands...

basically your motor's not brand new anymore. when you boost, you're pressurizing your motor, some of your boost is sneaking passed your piston rings and pressurizing the crankcase forcing some oil out of your valve cover vents. a little bit ok, like enough to take 2 swipes with a rag. if you've got like almost a quart of oil all over the fuckin place then yeah you probably cracked a piston/ring/ring land. the oil catch can catchs that oil that comes out of the vents, you can then pour the oil back in your motor when it starts to get excessive, replace the same amount in the can with new motor oil, or put a bung in your oil pan/block and run a return hose from your catch can to that so it basically recycles what comes out of your vents and puts it back into your oil pan. if you're getting a little bit don't freak out, but if you've turned your boost up and haven't been tuned, you might be damaging your engine and you should get some kind of management and a safe tune for your desired boost level. good luck
