Kinda continued from this thread:

http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=147916&highlight=clutch

Coles notes: U bracket on clutch broke on me. U bracket is attatched to clutch rod on one end, and the clutch pedal on other end. Clutch rod pushes clutch master cylinder and engages clutch.
U bracket break = clutch not engaging

I bought a new clutch U bracket, and it came with a new clutch rod. I put some JB Weld on it, from !Zar!s advice, and it is much more secure

I'm not going to order a new clutch master cylinder because my friend is going to help me do the install of the bracket this weekend, and my clutch master cylinder itself is working 100% fine.

Here is a diagram of the clutch master cylinder

The part I bought is #30631

Question:

Is it possible to replace both the U-Bracket and the clutch rod? The clutch rod is going to go inside the clutch master cylinder. Has anyone every replaced that before? Is it a lot of work? Is it hard?

I'm not wanting to do this cuz I'm cheap. I'm wanting to do this because bleeding the entire clutch system (If I replace the entire clutch master cylinder) is going to take all day long. So that's why I just want to replace the rod and U bracket

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That's it? Do I need to replace the snap ring, or the original one will work?
Thanks!

you shouldnt have to change to a new one unless you break it. its like changing your shifter, only a little smaller.

yup needle nose pliers x2 or snap ring pliers ~ how'd you break the U-clamp? That thing is fairly strong...

Pull the clutch master and remove the pushrod if you really must replace it, but IMO you don't need to.

Even if, it only takes 10 minutes to bleed the clutch if the damper has been removed, not a full day as you suggest.

Thanks again for everyone for the help, it's really appreciated! Have a good one.

GSXRJJordan: It just broke on me when I was driving. I don't drive it too hard, I guess it was just regular wear and tear. I had a friend that had exactly the same thing to him.
