sr20det exhaust smoke after boosting

hey guys,i just installed my sr20 motor and after bringing it to 5k rpms one time, it starts to smoke out of my tailpipe.
is this a sign of a blown turbo?? or too much oil???

What color is that smoke?

White=coolant. probably a hg
Blue= oil. rings, valves, or turbo
Black= caused by rich conditions

it could be unburnt gas... check injectors

White usually signifies burning of water/coolant in the combustion chamber. Since it seems to go away in your case, it's probably the coolant in the turbo, or even a minor hg leak. hg=head gasket

Best bet for both of you would be to do a compression test.

check the exhaust after you drive is there liquid, is it still smoking.

No liquid in exhuast pipe.Just the white smoke.

How much white smoke? Usually a little after cold starts is normal condensation from the tailpipe.

my money's on your turbo. take the intake hose off and just feel for shaft play, check if you see oil on the compressor turbine

bad turbo. mine did the same thing and i replased the turbo and it fixed it. it only does it randomely when you stop? and kinda smells like tar. and just poofs it out your tail pipe. yep bad turbo. i just added this to the sr20 faqs like 2 weeks ago.
