Drift Day 17 registration is now up. DD17 will take place at everyones favorite USA International Raceway in Shawano, WI. This event will be round 4 of the Midwest Cup Series. The beginning of the day will consist of a regular drift day, instructors will be on hand so feel free to ask for assistance.
USAIR allows us to have 3 different course layouts. There wil be two on the main track as well as a skid pad in the parking lot. Drivers will be split up in three groups (beginner, novice, and advanced). All drivers will have to go out on the skidpad and pass a figure 8 test before moving on to the novice course. Drivers who can complete the novice course flawlessly will be allowed to go onto the advanced course. Keep in mind staff has the right to send you back a level if you are damaging the track.
The day will consist of practice runs all morning, during the day judges will be picking the top 20 drivers. Then we will move into single run eliminations to determine the top 16. The top 16 will be reduced to the top 8 with another round of single runs. The top 8 will then tandem battle to decide the top drivers of the day.
As a reminder this is still a regular drift day. Whether you are competing or not, you will still have most of the day as a regular drift day. Only the later part of the day will be a competition.
