I would, but I think you have to be 18 to test drive cars Oh well maybe in 6 months.

hey im 17 and i walked in and they handed me the keys no questions asked...but then again i dressed professionaly and i havent shaved for a monthe so i usually pass as 20.

fucking on the hood of the s2k is very possible. it has a longer front end than most cars. i wasnt in the car for 10 minutes and somthing (either prelude or accord) tries to race me on the way back to the dealer. i already had it in 6 gear and didnt want to downshift to make it obvious, so i just give it more pedal and dust the POS. gotta love the digital speedo. i redlined three gears and and i look down and see 68, 69, look up and im in like a 50mph zone. i think it might have taken it as far as 80. truley an awsome car. i think id take it over any other car right now. maybee over a TTZ maybee over a Supra. Its just that a used car feels nothing like a brand new (or 2000 in my case) car.

My friend Desmond has a S2000. I Like it A LOT. Definately worth the money. He's has it for about a year now. He has Apex-i N-1 Dual Exhaust, Toda Racing flywheel, AEM Cold Air intake, and a Fuel/Pressure Regulator. After all of that is does 13.5 in the 1/4. In appearance we have painted the Calipers Red, Got the stock rims sprayed and cleared Gunmetal, and he has a Fiber images Carbon Fiber hood. It's a very nice car and I would love to have it. More power to anyone who drives a S2000.

I have drove and S2000 mayn time before i even turned 16, I had a rich friend (benefits of private school, and the only one) he let me drive it all the time. I was extremely fun and very smoothe, the VTEC in thouse cars don't kick in ass much as a prelude or so, but still noticable. The thing that always got me is even when taking a turn, even at low speed and not turning hard, exiting the turn the back end would always have a certain type of push on it, like it was almost getting squirley, but it wasn't. Its hard to explain it, do any oy yall else know what im talking about. I'm guessing becuase the spring and stablizer bars where really good it just made it do it naturally.

IIRC, someone interviewed the president of Spoon Sports in Japan...They asked him what his favorite Honda product was. He replied, "The S2000...It's...very fast."

A friend of mine has a 2002 Spa Yellow S2K...It's one helluva car to drive...I don't get where people come off saying it doesn't have enough low end torque for around-town driving. It feels just fine around town, down in the low rpm band. Whenever we're just cruising around town, it's not uncommon to be in 6th gear...sounds strange, but hey...I'm not complaining...hehe.

ok ill keep that in mind. i dont plan to have one till 2005 so plenty of time and my opinion might change. it will still be realativly new in 2005 anyway. not like if i were to get a another 300Z going on 15 years old. i hope the s2k doesnt get like a common mustang, camaro thing. i hate common cars. cant go around the block without seeing 5 of them. i love a car people have to look twice to figure out what it is.

If you get an S2K GET THE 2002 Model. It has the glass rear window and a reworked and better 6 sp. tranny, as if the current one isn't good enough.
I drove y brothers friends sliver S2K. I love that car. It handles as well as any non-convertible car because of the the X frame design. Oh ya, it's also FAST~!
I would definately get a S2K if i had 32K.

Ehh...It IS allowed...I don't know what kind of Nazi dealerships you have in OH, but I sure as hell wouldn't purchase a car without driving it first...I'm sure there are dealerships there that will allow test drives. You probably have to put a deposit down or something, but it's all returned when you return their 32,000 dollar car in one piece basically. We had to put a deposit on it the first time we test drove it here...we ended up test driving a 2001 they had that someone traded in. Plus, it was a bonus I knew the salesmen that went with me on the testdrive...I got to lotsa FUN on that test drive...hehe

err i beat on my cousins s2 and have to say that the handling is eerily familiar to that of my s13. tru its more precise and has more grip (like more point and shoot); but very similar over all feel to the car.

the s2k in stock form is a much better drifter than my s13 in stock form. without a doubt.

Yeah, I don't know what kind of dealerships you have there, but here you can test drive NSX's if you want to, so I really doubt that they would make an acception for a car worth about 1/3 that of an NSX.

But which one would you rather drift. A brand new S2K or a used S13. And IIRC in one of those Option vids they tried to drift an S2k and failed, but then finally did after a bunch of tries, but I guess even the top drifter on the show needs a little practice first. Anyway I still wouldn't drift an S2k. But am waitng for sum rich kid to get an S2k and try to drift it.

the new Z has at least 3 different trim levels to choose from. and the top of the line is about the same price as a s2000. the s2000 on the other hand only comes one way, fully loaded.

One word: AMAZING:eek: . I was just looking at cars with my dad a couple months ago (350z, NSX and s2000) just for fun and the last stop we went was to the Honda dealer. The salesman came out when we were looking at the s2000 and offered to take me for a ride. It turned out that he used to race 800hp dirt sprint cars. Needless to say, he knew how to drive.:D I came out speechless. Never gonna say anything bad about Honda again, but I'm still a Nissan man.

yeah the s2k is a sweeeeeet car! my friend has one and i've driven it some. it's incredibly fun to drive! great suspension from stock. gotta love the 9k rpm redline and the short shifting :D you just gotta drive it like you hate it to make use of all that power. but yeah. i love that car. just a little small and inconvenient, but it'd be a great weekend car.

I've been lobbying my dad tirelessly to get an S2K... partially because that means I could get his '81 Fiat Spider. I would be stunned if '03 was the last year for the S2000 because that car has raised Honda's image in the United States immensely. The Civic Si isn't impressive and the execs won't bring a Type R to America, so Honda's lineup would be automotive porridge without the S2K. I mean, come on, the new Si doesn't even have real VTEC.

haha... real VTEC... you guys must think I'm the biggest riceboy.

BTW NismoGear- your S13 is sweet. I want one.

what's the difference between "real" and "fake" VTEC???

The original Honda VTEC system used two separate cam profiles at different RPM- one for good air velocity and torque at low revs and the other for vastly improved flow at higher engine speeds for top-end power. The head on the 160-hp K20 in the new EP Civic Si uses a sissy version. In the old B- and H-series, the VTEC switch meant both valves would begin following the larger cam profile, and the engine would start screaming. In the new one, the two intake valves follow different-sized lobes on the cam at low RPM, and at higher speeds they both follow the bigger of those two lobes (which is still pretty small).
In addition, the changeover in the Si's engine occurs at 2300 RPM, whereas the RSX-S has a 6000-RPM switch point. Obviously, the RSX's motor is designed to rev like crazy.
Finally, the VTEC system in older Honda motors (and the K20A2 in the RSX-S, and the K20A1 in the S2000) operated on both the intake and exhaust cams. The quasi-VTEC in the K20A3 Si only works on the intake side, and it won't swallow air if it can't spit it out.
That's why the K20A3 engine is torquier than the old B16 but doesn't have the power on top- the change in flow is much less radical on the new VTEC system's switch. Plus the new Si's K20 uses a valvetrain that won't rev like the B-series.

If you want to know exactly how it works, I learned this stuff from the December issue of Sport Compact Car. You can read the article at http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/tech/0212scc_civichybrid/

My best friend with the Jeep still says VTEC stands for "Very Tiny Engine Company".

i was at FC kerback and i test drove the murcilego and...it's the best car that i ever driven! Everything that you see on paper is bullsh*t. From when i left the dealership, i tried gunning it and forgot to shift because i was still at all of me being in a lambo. By the second light i was like ok just take off like you would in your car if it had 627hp. so i sat the RPM's at 6500 pealed out and i must of hit 60 in like 2.8sec. shifting was smoother then a babies bottom. Handleing?, you got ask for much more stability. All and all im bullsh*t. :D :p
