My shocks in my S14 are shot, and i wanted to get an opinon on these Tokico...

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/performance/brand.php?makeid=19&modelid=197&year=1995&partid=283

They are on the bottom of the page, priced at $606.40.

My car is a daily driver, and i think this would be good because it has 5 different ride settings.

If the Tokico are not that great could someone give me an opinon on some Tein Basic Coilovers.

Thanks

Tokico Illuminas are great and will be much better for daily driving. You can't really compare them to coilovers though since they aren't height adjustable. You might as well just buy yourself some bare Illuminas and put whatever aftermarket spring you want on them.

For a stiffer than OE setup, but not a race setup, Tokico products rock. I loved my Tokicos (non adjustables) - I ran them with their spring package (back in the day).. although those are no longer available, tear.

That's right! They are sitting in my garage gathering dust. Ha!

They are coming out with a shock/spring combo using the D-spec (HTS) with 1.75" lowering at the front and 1.50" at the rear for the S14. IIRC, it's about the same price as the one you listed.

Those would be a great daily driver/street setup, not really much for compeitive use though. :)

koni (or agx if its more street than track) + gc + custom spring rates

Thanks for the advice. It really helped me, but one more question. How are tein basics? Are they good for the street or they too stiff?

(I like the ride stiffness the same or a little more stiffer then a factory 350z)

stiffness depends on spring rate and dampening adjustment.
