iirc, boars are glass wrapped around either foam or a balsa core, as such, the buoyancy of the fibres shouldn't matter a whole lot.

c/f is lighter than glass - because of this i would imagine it would work well, but i have a feeling that tbalancing it would be an issue.

remember  i have no surfing experience, this is just speculation based mostly on boat construction, but i would guess that it applies.

Bad idea! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> &nbsp;Chances are you are not going to get the seams airtight and water is going to leak inside...then your <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> CF surfboard is going to be sitting at the bottom of the ocean, too heavy for you to retrieve. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lookaround.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':look:'>

If you are just doing it for show or conversation piece, that's a different story. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sigh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
