My suspension isnt very stiff i just have Koni shocks
Tried tightening the speakers and factory amp, maybe that was it ...NO

can you tell if your trunk is actually opening and closing?
it could be that your subframe bushings are bad

Replace the weather seal around the trunk, and adjust the latch.

Use hood pins in your trunk.... Making them trunk pins?

How would you adjust the latch, sorry for the stupid question

Both the piece that is attached to the car, and the piece that is attached to the trunk lid are held on with 2 10mm bolts. Loosen those bolts and you have a very small amount of play in both pieces. Try to reposition them so that the trunk has to close further before it latches. In other words, push down on the car part, and up on the trunk lid part, then re-tighten.
That may work for now, but most likely it has to do with your weather stripping being old and worn out.

Both my S14's did this and it annoyed the shit out of me!! I went to Nissan and bought new rubber stoppers for the corners and replaced the old crushed ones. Never rattled again, they are really cheap too!!

I did the same and it fixed my s14 and s13 hatch as well. Both were actually missing the rubber stoppers!

my stripped s14 does that bad... i just always assumed it was a basic factor of the trunk lid/spoiler.

my coupe and my friends skyline did this. turned out to be those rods under the speaker deck, i think they help with the trunk somehow if i remember correctly.

those rods are what open the trunk automatically when you pull the release lever. obviously, hatchbacks don't have them

Yup, the rods are tension rods - they get flexed when you close the trunk, and that flex makes it easy for the trunk to open. Problem is, the little plastic separators get knocked out/broken/lost in most coupes, and the tension rods can then rub together (making a squeaking noise). Either wrap the rods in carpet, or get new oem plastic separators.
As far as the trunk slamming up and down as you drive, replace the weather stripping and rubber stoppers first, then adjust the latch. That'll fix it every time.
It's amazing how much more enjoyable the car is to drive when there are no rattles :) the ladiez like it too ~
