So like the title reads. If my airbag light is on, will that not allow the cruise control to work? I'm trying to get my cruise control to work, so I can save on gas. I believe that I read something like that somewhere but I'm not sure. I'm just trying to troubleshoot here so I can see what it is that needs fixing. Thanks in advance.

As long as the spiral cable is not damaged the cruise will work fine. However, being that the airbag light is on, it's a chance that's why it's on. Run diagnostics on the airbag circuit to determine the problem, replace the spiral cable as needed.

By the sprial cable, do you mean the one attached to the throttle line? How do I run diagnostics on the airbag circuit? Thanks!

No, I mean the spiral cable, the one behind the steering wheel that completes the cruise/airbag circuit. Why would a throttle cable affect the airbag?

The diagnostic procedure is in the FSM and found online through a search. Key on, depress pinswitch 7 times in 5seconds, read codes.

Ahh, ok. I think it may be the cable. Because my horn was getting stuck sometimes randomly, I just got tired of it and pulled the relay out. Thanks again!

I just recently swapped my steering wheel for an aftermarket one and hooked up the cruise control by splicing the wires together but it does not work. The Aribag light is on.

Can anyone confirm that they have cruise with the airbag light on. I have triple checked my wiring.

look for a common connection usually a fuse or a ground that is in both circuits. Then separate them, if its a fuse then wire it to another one like the radio... i highly doubt the air bag system would be tagged to the cruise but abortions do happen
