It's always a good idea to have a daily driver if your car has illegal mods. Especially in California. So a lot of people do it.

if you can afford to fo it then do it....but the majority of people dont buy a daily for the gas milage 240s get good gas mileage....people get them so they have something reliable to still drive around when their cars are fucking up or are installing new parts....but yeah to answer your question a lot of people have 2 cars

I was running really rich setup getting like 16ish, of course I wasn't easy on it either.

i drive my sr daily. i get over 30mpg. i have jic coilovers. id really like a daily driver, but i dont mind driving my 240 one bit.
