I dont get this mustang motor craze.
Especially the 5.0 liter motors.
If the block isnt factory capable of 500whp, then whats the point.
300hp at the crank was slow in the fox body what makes people think it will be fast in stock form in a 240sx.
An LS1 or LS2 or 350 crate motor that's different.
Put a windsor motor in the 240, not a throttle body injected 80s pos.

sr20dets at 1 bar can run a 12.9 if you know what your doing.
sr20dets run consistant mid 13s with stock turbos (and thats only redtop motors wtih t25s) if you get a 60 ft under 2.0

i love how everyone is so quick to bag on everyone, and im sure the chevy guys would say why waste a good ls1 engine and put in a pile of shit 240. ya im sure tons of bone stock sr's run 13 flat, are you fukin kidding me, more like low 14's if your lucky. all you would have to do is cam heads ect and it would be fast, now with an sr you need cams full bottom end built injectors engine management ect ect then it would prob be as fast.bunch of fukin haters hey if the dude likes it who the fuk cares.the car is shit so is the engine

hmmm you really do not know much about SR's do you? At least thats what your post seems to state. I know people with stock S14SR's and boost controllers putting out close to 290 whp. Now thats fast enough to run a 13 flat in the quarter. Did any of us ever say bone stock SR? No. We did state it was possible to run 13's with a SR and no you do not need a built bottom end to do that the stock SR bottom end is capable of holding close to 400hp.
When you have more experience tuning engines you can speak up. Though what you stated above was not spoken with knowledge.

You barking up the wrong tree with drift freaq...he doesnt even fuck with SRs.
As far as fox body mustang, i always thought its hard to make power with the damn things NA. Only guy I knew who made power with them went boosted. You cant compare these engines to an LS1, its easy to make power with LS1s NA.

11.8's with a compltely stock sr long block/stock cams/stock intake mani, ebay fmic, 100 dollar log manifold t3/62-1 afc and a mis-tuned rom.
prolly spent less than 7k on the entire project. (thats including blowing up an sr and destroying a tranny and turbo).

I think its not bad.. maybe they had the v8 laying around and no source for sr or didnt really care.. shoot the V8 could be legalized.
imagine this situation, a couple of hotrod v8 guys have a motor laying around. they come accross a s14 that has no motor or dying motor that is super cheap. Not much knowledge on turbos or the sr20, why not put this v8 motor in the s14? its ligther then most domestic chassis cars we could put it in. Boom lets do it!

Quite the negative reps some of you guys have.
To comment to the original poster....that is an interesting swap and the first time I've seen it. When you said dual exhaust...do you mean single tips on both sides? If so, I've only seen that once and what was back in 2001 (some Aussie car).

Car is unique, clean too.
Im with hypertek..
kinda looks like a ford 4.6 v8, those are pretty cheap to find used, bah! you can find them in explorers.
Not to mention the huge aftermarket for engine and mustangs for that matter.
Stop this bitching about: sr's are better and the ford swap was pointless. who cares- do what you do and let the next do his thing. btw 13 flat all day is a fast street car, you could beat almost anything out there.
Im not saying I would do the swap, I personally would just stick with an SR, but thats just me.

^^^ XLT Explorers had 5.0s, at least my Mom's '97 does. They're still "five point slows".
Neg rep for Dirk - wrong attitude.
I agree that it's possible that some hot rod guys had a spare motor and found the 240 and Frankensteined it, but it's much more likely some kid heard about 240s and this was his dream swap. *sigh*
God, people making threads about ugly, Frankenstein cars, that turn 13s. As Steve said, it's just not fast. I'm not about to post 9s time slips of my GSXR, and that was actually built/ridden by me...
The only thing that I'm curious about is the exhaust lol, Mustang style with dual single tips? Might look OK on the S14...
Hooorahh!

car is unique .. i wouldn't do it .. rather go ls1/sr/rb but thats the owners choice not anyone Else's.. also i give him an E for effort but ford does suck .. and dirtdiggler666 .... u need to get a life bro. i don't know if u were a muscle car guy ... or if u still ride a bike to school/work . But i honestly doubt anyone cares if u can hit a 7 sec in a 1/4 mile or have 254684257 +whp congrats to u man but really if Ur gonna get on here just to talk shit or make no sense at all why bother? do u get some kind of joy at of this? cause by the looks of it ur gonna go sr or ur thinking about it after and if ur ka blows witch i really don't wish that for u, but its obvious that u all ready have that in mind. So anyways
ur a (dingelberry)
well anyways, as stated interesting swap, clean and i hope the guy enjoys it !
oh and not that it matters but a friend with a stock ass s13 sr20det with only a s14 turbo (t28)fmic and lil bolt ons, stock ecu, stock maf,and stock injectors got a 12.8 ... spent less than 2k in mods and 2k on the motor, so yess stock sr's can hit low 13's and with the right driver and the right parts u might get luck and hit a 13 flat or high 12's

Please educate yourself on a motor before you even begin to rant about it. I don't care if you are a mod. Fox stangs are not as slow as you think they are in stock trim. In stock trim I took my 87 Coupe to a 13.7 @ 107mph. The only thing I did was run a short belt when I got to the track, the put on the normal belt before I left. The blocks do usually start to split around ~550hp. After 1985 was the last year fro TBI. The setup on the car in picture is a EFI Spyder type setup (short runner, high torque, and 100% not throttle body injection).
Go price a STOCK Ls1, Ls2, or Ls7. Then go price a built stroked 302 based engine. Ford FTW.
And because you obviously didn't know... 289, 302, 351 are all Windsor engines (motors are electric, engines run on fuel).
On the other end, whats the actual wet weight of a S14?

[I]i was referring to a 351 MOTOR
Main Entry: 1mo·tor
Pronunciation: 'mO-t&r
Function: noun
Etymology: Latin, from movEre to move
1 : one that imparts motion; specifically : PRIME MOVER
2 : any of various power units that develop energy or impart motion: as a : a small compact engine b : INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE; especially : a gasoline engine c : a rotating machine that transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy
3 : MOTOR VEHICLE; especially : AUTOMOBILE
- mo·tor·dom /-d&m/ noun
[B]it's funny to me that you try to make me seem stupid by suggesting motor does not refer to an internal combustion engine and then in your location on the board you say "surrounded by retards" kind of hypocritical no?
On the other end, whats the actual wet weight of a S14?
more than a stripped fox body in some cases-over 2800lbs stock
I'm not trying to be a dick, just trying to get some truth out there.
Im probably one of the only active members of the forum who does a lot of drag racing and has had more than 5-6 years expereince with the s chasis in that arena.
Ford is cool, but imo, put an ls-1 with some nice, heads, spend a little money on it, the point of a big disp motor, if your slower than fairly common easy to do 1500-2000 dollar japanese engine swap?

Kyle just got rid of his 240 and got a clean ass 5.0 mustang.(this is cracker)
A 5.0 is a great motor. In the end more potential than a KA or SR. Twice the displacement, endless aftermarket. Who says they have to be boosted to make good power? Ive seen N/A 5.0s make 600whp. Not a daily driver by any means but they have no problems making power. Im not bias in any way just a car guy regardless of the manufactur(sp?) or engine size. I have a Cobra and a 435rwhp SR.
Fords suck? No. They are just to damn stubborn to go bigger displacement. Compare the 4.6 motor out of the 05-06 mustangs to the LS1 which was hand built by God himself and handed to chevy(a joke). The 4.6 is making 300hp/320tq the ls1 is making 320hp/330tq. Imagine if the 4.6 was the same displacement as the LS1, can we say 375hp if not more. So the LS1 is not the only good engine out there and Ford makes some great motors. Im not a big Ford fan but I give them there props.
I give props to the guy. Clean swap, not the norm that you usually find under the hood of a 240.
