on Saturday I'll be traveling about 50 miles to remove a core support from a parts car. I know it's held together by the tension rod brackets, fenders, and spot welds.

I plan on using a drill and alot of patience to cut through the welds, but like I said, I'll be an hour from home so I'm just making sure this sounds like a surefire plan.

has anyone else removed a core support and what are your methods? keep in mind I can't bring a torch with me :/

A torch isn't what you need (althought it'd work), you need an angle grinder. You're gonna have a lot of fun drillin through those welds and trying to break them ~ bring a big hammer to finish the job also.

just buy a new one, it shouldnt cost more than $150 and it will still be streight when you take it off.

Best way to drop one quickly is a sawzall, cut it just behind the support through the fender aprons and down to the framerails, then you can bring it home and take your time drilling the spotwelds. The aprons and rails are semi thick, but the rest cuts like butter. 2 minutes total will have one off.

I just noticed your location, I've got one already cut off, it's basically the whole front clip forward of the shock towers, you can have it if you pick it up.
