now the car keeps blowing the fuel pump fuse. It took me 3 fuses to get around the block and home. Here's what i did after starting car and taking fuel fuse out to relieve pressure.

1. Took fuel assembly out
2. Put new Filter in with sock at bottom
3. Cut both red and black wires
4. Crimped to new Harness, making sure red went to red, black to black
5. pluged harness in
6. Installed new hose
7. Put everything back together

I might not of mentioned every special detail, but thats basically what i did. Now the car keeps blowing that fuse. I noticed that when its in the garage idling, or being reved, its fine. But the fuse blows as soon as i start driving (making turns, bumps, etc.). Do You guys think maybe the stock walbro connectors are causing this to short? Would gasoline touching where i crimped the wires together, cause the fuse to keep blowing?

Take the assembly out and double check things, somethings getting grounded that shouldnt be.

thanks for the one person that did actually help. I guess when your new, people want to keep it that way. But anyways, I cut and redid the wires, this time wrapping it with electrical tape to make sure there wasnt any unwanted connections. I notice the car is fine when it sits in one spot. I let the car sit and idle for awhile, even reving the engine. Like i said before, the fuse only blew once i started driving around. I havent gotten to drive it tonight since i have redone the wires, but bright and early tomarrow im gonna take her for a spin. Ill post back to update. wish me luck

Your wiring may be jacked. Pull the fuse run it out of fuel, read my writeup and try again. See if that works. My wirte up is in the FAQ (fuel system upgrade for SR)

One of your wires going to your fuel pump Has to be shorting out, it probably broke free. Pull the pump, check it out.

Your problem may or maynot be in the tank, but I'd start at the pump then work my way up. Does it blow the fuse when your lights are on or when the brake is pressed or does it just take time for it to blow. Any loose wires at the top where the pump mounts to the tank, common place for wires to get pinched.

Okay so i fixed the problem. To help others that may run in to this problem ill just tell how i did it. My problem started when i installed a brand new walbro fuel pump. The car would start and idle fine, even reving it into boost, and all that was okay. The problem occured once i started driving around, i would start blowing the fuel pump fuse. It didnt make since to me since i knew if the car can idle, why cant it drive? So i felt like maybe it had to do with gasoline in the tank splashing around and maybe touching the wires. The walbro positive and negative wires where pretty long when i installed it. Initially the wires were so long i ziptied them to keep them up towards the top of the tank. So what i did was cut both the wires shorter so they would be just straight up and down. After crimping the wires together again, i wrapped the whole crimped section closed with electrical tape so no gasoline or unwanted touching would happen. I was driving the car around earlier (spirited) to make sure nothing would happen to me when im on the freeway or far away from home. So hopefully this is the end of this journey. If something arrises again, ill let everyone know.

gasoline splashing on exposed wires shouldn't cause a blown fuse. Gasoline cannot complete a circuit because it is not conductive.
