Okay, my rear suspension always clunks (I don't like the sound at all) whenever the road slightly changes or on little bumps. The front doesn't do this at all and I'm not sure exactly what this could be, but I think it's towards the top of all this suspension stuff in the rear. What's wrong w/ it? I'm clueless on this.

jack up the rear and check if anything is loose. That would be the first thing to check. After that you'll have to bring it to a alinment shop and they will tell you if a rod end or bushing is worn out. Check your lug nuts too, I've had them come loose and it thumps when you drive.

Do you have aftermarket springs? I know a lot of times, shocks (particularly stock or equivolent) don't have a fast enough rebound rate to keep the spring seated on bumps causing a clunk when the spring reseats.
Hopefully you don't have the clunk I gots - rear subframe bushings gone bad <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>

hey blank, i have the same setup as you with the same problem, on the corner that is clunking, hippo is pretty much right, except for mine it happens when there is an immediate dip (read manhole) where the shock pushes the wheel down immediately as it should, but the spring isn't quite long enough and temporarily becomes slightly separated from the seat, when they come back together is when the clunk happens, i had a technician at work look at it and he said it wasn't a serious problem, but to call nissan or tokico and tell them the situation and ask if they have something like a hard plastic ring that sits on top of the seat to keep it from separating

make sure the bolt on top of the strut that holds everything together is tight...what u might wanna do is take some vise grips and one of those rubber jar opener grips, put the jar opener grip the highest u can go on the shock's piston rod (don't do it down low, cuz u prolly won't fuck it up, but if u do and its a place that goes into the piston shit could get fucked up), hold the rod with the vise grips (with the rubber grip under it, like i said), and tighten the bolt on top. if thats confusing, then i can explain better if u want...

i thought the same thing cuban, tried it and it didn't work, and from personal experience, NEVER put and kind of tool on the piston shaft

yeah, if u know what i mean by the jar opener, it protects the shaft fine...then again, maybe i'm just dumb, but thats the only way i've done it/heard of it done...what do u do to tighten it?

yeah i know what you mean about the jar opener, and that would probably work, on the top of the thread there is a place that is flat where you can put some vice grips, that's what i did and it worked out, i can't quite exactly remember the process cause i did it last fall, but i know there is a spot for vicegrips built in
