this is the back of the motor (a92 hatch KA). i took the flywheel off by the 6 bolts on my auto and my manual. the place the flywheel mounts to has got this ring and it looks like i could take it out and the manual flywheel will then fit on.
has anyone seen this while doing while doing the 5 speed swap?
yes that is the auto pilot bushing - you will need and pilot bushing puller - they rent them at any auto parts store.
I am in the process of finishing up my 5 speed swap DVD if you interested - I go into alot of details that are not covered anywhere else.

the FSm says 105 - 112 ft/lbs for the flywheel bolts.

Make sure you step the torque when you tighten it. Start off torquing everything to about 60 lbs, then start torquing it down in a star pattern.
