ok everyone this is my build, ok i bought a s13 about 5-6 years ago still living at my parents house it was my 2nd car by the way so i was gunna build it for the track only. well long story short i took the car home and my parents told me to go f myself they were like go get your own house and build it their, so i sold the car. well i finally got my house and a s14 to build, i have been building the car for about 6 months now i still need to upload more pics so take it easy. the only reasion for me posting this is it would be cool to meet new people so when my dumb ass go's to the track youl be like hey dipshit try this, well sorry for the bla bla bla.

best engine ever built ha ha j/k i just took it out to change the rear main front main and oil pan gasket, and i just wanted to bolt up the new 5speed and just drop it in as one, and im doing this all by myself no help i seem to get more done but like taking engines out kinda sucks

nice build...I'm currently piecing together a similar setup, except I'm going to be running a T25 w/ no engine management yet (N60 MAF and 370cc Injectors)...can anybody recomment a good A/F controller - currently thinking about E-Manage Blue but I heard its a piece of crap...so SAFC-II probably? I'm thinking about just running low boost...>10 psi.

yes i did i dident knw someone allready told me thats a bad idea, but i just went down and took a better look and its not leaking their, go figure the one thing i dident do on the car is fukin a piece or shit look at the downpipe flange oil was leaking out the back of the downpipe flange,ok im no turbo god but oil is no sopoded to come out the dack of the turbo:rant: i guess i cant be to mad its the cars first drive and i have been worry of the turbo the whole time

sorry no updates i have been busy, yes the rear rims are sportmax if you want a pic just go to the sportmax site.and the oil feed and return are on correct, i just hope all the fuel from running fat as hell dident wash a ring out. im going to leak the engine down soon to find out.

Oil is black because even when you drain it there is still oil in little crevices. It shouldn't be black like you just drove 3k miles, but a little dark like some old oil still in the turbo contaminated it. As far as oil in your exaust mani... that shouldn't be there, not sure how that would happen unless your rings are bad or something.

that turbo looks like a turbo i had, with that secondary waste gate flapper housing thing. I was told it was a garrett from like 1950s diesel trucks. it was deffinitley a crapper. but it actually said garrett on the housing. It did look super similar to that what with the extra housing thingy, and all the castings and shit look the same. Does it have an old style compressor fan, like with no secondary fins? and/or did it come from boost designs?

but yeah aem sucks and uses batch firing on the injectors. id rather have a rom tune

well i can tell you its not from the 50's, i just took it apart and everything looks fine frickin brand new lookin. and btw its twin blade, fuk i dont know it sucks because im not sure if its the engine or the turbo. i just did a comp test and it was like 165 all the way across, could it not be oil and just running so fat raw gas and exhaust mixed togeather???

The only difference between an SR box, KA, VQ, and a host of other nissan engines is a few jumpers and shit, so Im sure if you switched to SR you could send it back to AEM and have them switch it around for you...

Since you already have more then half of the parts you already need for a solid turbo system, why don't you just scrap the : turbo, mani, & downpipe and replace it with OEM t25 SR, ebay bottom mount, and ebay downpipe? that would be like 300$ more to get those above items.

I would recommend the PHR MapECU. Gets rid of the MAF and replaces it with a MAP sensor. I would also recommend the MapECU2 if you want timing control. They have been used succesfully in Supra's and DSM's for a long while

we've (i work at a shop in buffalo) had really good luck tuning with the AEM, infact the last ka-t we did mike said it was the easiest car he's ever tuned !

i have had an Electromotive Tec3 on a KAT before, not only did it take twice as much time to tune as the AEM did, but the tune still felt shotty. It honestly felt like (and later found out) that that "peach of a 2700 dollar standalone" is really meant for jam-pedal driving (drag racing: either on or off, no in between).

Then, theres the EMS, it was a cake-walk... end of story. and it was 1500.00 bucks... almost half the price of a "real" standalone... anyone want a tec3... i'll sell it dirt cheap.... or toss it in a G-can

and on a more fun but pain in the ass note, i have been working on the supercharger, took me a little while because i wanted to find an engine to work off of so i would have very little down time with my car

first was to make the supercharger plate using 1/2 6061, autocad and a waterjet, here are some pics

I wondering though: couldn't you have put the S/C closer to the engine (shorter intake manifold) ?
Too much trouble to make another manifold ?

I mean, I think about the cobalt SS (cause its the only factory S/Ced car i've seen) and the S/C is bolted right on the head or way closer anyway...

Do you think you're gonna have any clearance issues ?? it doesn't look like there's that much room over there in the engine bay

BTW twin charge would be sick !

Also, what car is that supercharger from ? or aftermarket ?

and their is no need to put it any closer, its about as close to the engine as i can go. and their is still a bunch of room in the fender strut area.

and as far as a custom intake manifold i just think it would be alot of work for nothing, unless i had no choice.

Pretty slick build. I like the supercharger, I haven't seen that used very often if at all on a KA. Over here we have a Supercharger kit for the SR, but not alot of people are buying it where I live.

Waterjet??? Are you a Machinist or Fabricator??? or do you just know some people??? I would kill in cold blood to get my hands on one of those. Here on Okinawa we pretty much go with the old band saw and spindler sander (takes like two days to cut out a shape like that and get it right.

I believe towards the rear of the sc. You can see a hole there to where it looks like one bolts up.

lets just say my brother in law has one at his shop, and i drag him into work on saterdays. yes if you had to make this by hand it would take forever and would no come out nearley as nice.

and yes the throttle body goes on the side where the hole is, i have to make a flange for the supercharger side then make one for the stock ka tb then with a bent tube in the middle.

I would be happy if there wasa machine shop on this island with a waterjet. I guess that is one thing that would be a plus about going back to the U.S. adequate machine shops are pretty plentiful.
