Took a look around and noticed there was nothing posted about the "great race" this weekend. I think we're in for a very very exciting race come Saturday. Hopefully the rain stays away, but realistically I think we're in for a wet race, as Thursday qualifying was held in torrential downpour. Great battles to be seen all through the field. Peugeot v. Audi at the front of course, but the petrol P1 battle should be something to watch as well. Zytek seems to be the class of LMP2 but this is perhaps the most unpredictable of the classes. Definitely looking forward to Aston v. Corvette v. Saleen in GT1, I'll be rooting for the Oreca Saleens thats for sure. The Ferrari-Porsche scrap still ever strong in GT2 with the F430's and GT3 RSR's and also the Panoz's and Spykers. Regardless this is, in prospect, one of the most exciting Le Mans in years.

LMP1 and overall pole - #8 Peugeot 908 HDi FAP

LMP2 Pole - #33 Barazi Epsilon Zytek 07S/2

LMGT1 Pole - #008 Larbre Compétition Aston Martin DBR9

LMGT2 Pole - #87 Scuderia Ecosse Ferrari F430 GT

Um, I think it will be on Speed for those of you who have it(not sure on that though). I've been watching Motors TV's 60 hours of coverage, but thats a European channel, and I'd get in trouble telling you where to get it (PM me ;)). Also, Radio Le Mans will be live streaming the whole race at http://www.radiolemans.com/! I guess this shit starts pretty soon huh? No idea, whenever 3 PM in France is haha...

I'm gonna be rooting for Courage in the "P1 Petrol" class and the Barazi Zyteks in P2. I would absolutely love to see Oreca on top in the Saleens. And since I was raised on Porsches, I'll be rooting for any of the four 997's, Flying Lizards in particular, for a GT2 class win. I want Peugeot overall if for no reason other than we need a break from Audi, but I have my doubts as to if they can make it last the whole race. Peugeot taking pole might prove they're faster, but the Audi's run like clockwork, and after all, the 908 has only seen 2 races prior to Le Mans.

Discuss.

Almost a third of the way through now. Audi leads LMP1, ASM Lola in LMP2, the works Aston Martin leads GT1, and the Risi Ferrari F430 is leading in GT2.

watched the whole thing fell asleep right went it started to rain..... AUDI FUBARED bad!they almost lost seriously....luckily they still had one car still in the lead... how about the bourdais spacial move in the beginning was that sick or what... cutting a turn wide... almost wiping out.

p1 was a good race p2 was ok, kinda sad that there was only 2 cars left....
gt1 was the best to watch freakin took aston martin forever to win tho with the corvette dominating for the while... for some reason the cameras wasnt on the other gt's all that much.. kinda sad how flying lizard just threw in the towel...

i was expecting to see alot more porches tho..

that weekend was fun to watch racing... with the 24hr,USGP, and the nascar race.. back to back... hamilton might have this f1 season in the bag... if he can keep it up... and im hoping vickers can get toyota their first win this season almost had it in his hands if it wasnt for the crash on the restart...

anyone going to sonoma for the nascar race? i predict montoya maybe.... if u can get somewhere close to pole.. or gordon...

Yeah crazy race, watched all 24 hours. Probably something like 50 alltogether with qualifying, warm-up, and the historics race. Almost half of the field retired by the end, and only 2 LMP2 cars finished! Stunning work by Pescarolo getting a apot on the podium and yes finally a win for Aston. IMSA-Matmut Porsche won GT2!!! Fuck yeah. A shame about Flying Lizards, that is probably the best livery I've seen in a long long time. Got FIA GT, DTM, and Super GT to watch this upcoming Sunday and the Formula 1 @ Magny-Cours and 1000km of Nurburgring the week after. Man I love when the racing season is in full swing...
