HELLLLLPPP!!!! i need s13 expert!!!

okay, today i was driving, and the main wiring harness that connects to the manifold area and to the starter coil area thing, got caught in my fan and shred some wires... put the wires back together fine and everything taped up all nice, and it still wont start... it turns over, the fan moves and engine turns, but there is NO SPARK!!!! im thinking its the starter coil that fried or blew or whatever.... checked all fuses, no fuses blown..

if anyone can help, either pm me or post it up... any input.. i am borrowing the starter coil tomrrow from a friend to see if its the problem...

but if thats not it.... got any ideas?

I would say.

Your ecu got cooked.

The AFM wiring was part of that. It got caught in the fan, spliced, grounded and pounded. Remove the kick panel, smell the ECU, does it smell burnt?

Check for Inj signal using a 12v light bulb, and the wires off the bulb into each one of the injector pins. No pulse? 99% cooked ecu.

Air Flow Meter, it is bolted to the Black Airbox, where the airfilter is kept. It is the metal thing, with the plug connected to it. If the ground/signal wire gets crossed, it cooks the ecu.

okay thats what i was wondering.. yeah its stock ka, sohc actually.. just picked it up a few weeks ago and temporarily removed the fan shroud, and zip tied wires to intake, and zip tie broke and now im fucked... DONT TRUST ZIP TIES ANYONE!!!!!!

im gonna buy another one.... the reason i took it out was because it was messed up when i bought the car a few weeks back, and it was stopping my fan from moving somtimes and cause my shit to over heat periodically.. so i removes the piece of junk and it didnt overheat anymore at all.. now i just need to get a new one, especially since i guess it funnels air in as well.... just learned that... i thot it was to protect my stupid ass from cuttin my hand off... lol.

nylon locking cable fasteners? oh you mean instead of zip ties... well its the only thing i had and someone at the meet poited it out so i put a few on there for the time being and i guess a few broke before and im stupid and dont check shit that often and the last one flew, and so did my ecu. lame. thanks alot guys i feel moreso that i know whats up now... i awas freakin out it was something more serious..

find a friend with a good harness and try it out on your car. Shoudlnt take too long to change. If not, try swapping ECUs.

well, i tried the coil, its fine, so i picked up an ECU casue my other one was cooked, and before i had no spark but NOW I DO!!! so thats good, but now i dont know what the hells wrong... im thinking the injectors, the signal isnt going thru, something else fried, or theres a problem with my main wiring harness now... any one got any ideas? anyone in SAN DIEGO AREA have a main wire harness for a 5speed SOHC???
