if there was a dead oil pump on an engine , how long would it take for the entire engine to seize up?
i know i am going to buy a new OE one but i ran my engine after i rebuilt it on what i thought was a dead pump but it ran fine...

Damn benefitx your not havin any luck you your SR huh?
not sure my buddies SR has a dead one and we drove it around the block didnt relize it untill the HLA's were still tickin loud and the cams were sqeakin, then pulled off the valve cover and ran it and saw No oil from the squirters. Why? your not plannin on running it are you?

yea it seems like your posting for every single problem or question you have. Dont you have other sr guys around your area.
I think you can use common sense on this one. If your engine is not circulating oil throughout the engine, Hmmmm.....how long. Not too long. Maybe a minute or two. Engines cant run without oil.

I have been running on a pretty much dead oil pump on my KA. My oil pressure guage reads at about 15psi at all rpms. And that dummy light flickers on and off once and a while. And I have been running on it for like 2 weeks now. LOL. Im planning on doing a rebuild or getting an SR very soon, so it isn't such a big deal to me. I wouldn't run my engine if I just had it rebuilt though.

ehh every problem...just the whole starter thing i was having an issue with....
i did actually get my engine running but i forgot to torque down one of the rod cap nuts so it was knocking again...now its out again and im replacing all gaskets and stuff making sure i dont have to pull this engine out anytime soon...

It takes awhile if at idle or driving around the block, cause oil would be about 45-50 psi. At freeway speeds around 3k rpm, 75 psi.... Literally will blow your motor, cause the rings are getting lubbed going up and down the cylinder. Its not just those parts not getting lubbed but your block too
