I have a 93 coupe and my battery tray/holder is pretty rusted away...a mechnaic in the area said i could fiberglass where the whole is so the battery would have somthing to rest on...he is a good guy and he wouldnt point me in the wrong direction...so my question is would this idea be ok and if yes where could i buy the fiberglass to make a tray for the battery??

If your ganna go through that might as well relocat the battery to the rear. Its not to much work, and there are plenty of how to's on this. If you dont want to relocate it, there are plenty of options to use for the battery to rest on. You could even cut out the rusted section, clean it out really well then weld on some more sheet metal. Which ever route you take make sure that its solid.

Reweld, shouldn't cost very much if you do the prep work of cleaning it up.

I went with relocating though. A nice sturdy battery box goes for under $10 and relocation is simple.
