quick question. i was told that using a 88.5mm bore headgasket on a stock bore would not be a problem as long as i dont use a headgasket that has a smaller bore than the bore of the block. i was also told that you have to be exact same bore, headgasket and block or it wont last. Everyone has thier own theories but who knows the facts? stock bore is 86mm right?

Negitive Dude stock bore is 86mm. well you Dont wanna use a smaller bore HG same size will be fine and also using a slightly lager size is okay (around .5mm) , I bored my Cylinders out to 86.5 and im using a 87mm bore HG.

If you are try to go with a 88.5 bore gasket on a stock sr 86mm bore that way too much of a gap. Usually you only go .5 up. If you have a 86 bore, just buy a 86 mm bore gasket. Usually only people who overbore thier cylinders go to a 87 mm gasket. 87 mm would be ok for stock bore but i dont know if I would feel comfortable going to an 88.5 mm gasket.
