Lol didn't even realize that till you pointed it out.
And if you're serious about not being able to find the starter, it's on the passenger side under the car. You really can't miss it.

AHHAHA, I wish I had a stock 95 s15 :loco:
Anyway, if you can't find the starter, I don't think you should be working on your car...

Are you saying you have a S15 SR in a 95 240sx? The starter should be right below the oil filter if its like the S13 SR. The oil filter is right below the intake manifold/fuel rail/throttle body etc. Which is on the passanger side of a USDM car or on the driver side of a JDM car. Make sure to disconnect the battery unless you want to to keep on making your wrench spark on every turn.

Behind the oil filter, not below. The guy's already confused about what kind of car he has, don't make it any worse for him.

Sorry, I stand corrected. The black and gold cylinder thing to the left of that orange thing (oil filter) is the starter. Do your self a favor and go to your local parts store and pick up a haynes or chilton's manual.

Remove that big brace and throw it away while you're in there.

sounds stupid, but im out of town. Not near my FSM. all i need to do is unplug the battery, correct? Do i need to line anything up with the old starter. or make note of positioning or anything. seems a lil too easy. 3 bolts and two wires, and replace?....any help is appreciated, no need to flame.

i just went thru hell with my starter a few weeks ago. First off. have a friend help you line up your starter so it bolts in straight. I kept getting this stupid little gap everytime i tried it myself.
Secondly, if you have an aftermarket starter your gonna end up grounding out, not be able to start your car and en up pulling your hair out trying to find out what the problem is.

I ordered a remaned OEM original starter off ebay. The guy is very reputable and a friend of mine bought from the same seller and had a shop install his starter and it worked fine. But me being an amature mech. youre prob right. cross your fingers.

You do not need anyone's help, set it in the hole, push it tight, and thread the bolts in. Literally 60 seconds.
Some of the reman starters I've seen use the snout off an Altima starter, those will interfere with the IACV hardline and the intake plenum brace. The brace can (and should) be removed and trashed, but if the hardline hits try another seller.
