okay i've searched this forum leeft and right to find and anwser, but did not succeed. My question is is the crank in the fwd sr20 de (g20) and the rwd sr20 det (s13) the same. From reading the part number in the stroker kits for the fwd and rwd sr, it says that the cranks are the same part number but different rods. I remember reading somewhere that the fwd sr require different rod bearings also. with these clue i determined that the fwd use different rods and rod bearing but share the same crank. has anyone come across this yet. if so sorry about reposting if somdone already did. i cant seem to fibd a strongrt crank for my sr20det.

If the part numbers are the same... that usually makes them the same part.

no need to compare number it will work
only one that wont work is the 4 counter weight
i have a 95 200sx se-r crank in my motor now
get it balanced and polished and get bearings cut to fit instead of trying to find one to fit

So your saying that i can use the fwd sr20 from a infiniti g20 in my rwd sr20 but i need to get it cut and polished to fit sr20 det rwd rods and bearings? oh sorry cut bearings .... hmmm so i cant get the bearings and rods for rwd sr and it not work without cutting and polished. (i'm getting the crank polished regardless but rather not cut/grind) just trying to figure out my best options. I haven't found a single aftermarket crank for sr20 yet! that would make life so much easyier. Well let me give you a little background story. I got this very sweet deal getting a entire "everthing i need" sr swap for my s13. missing minor stuff but over good deal for doing some labor. but the problem was i got the swap in pieces...:duh: It was completly dissasymbled and i never really messed with let alone touched a sr b4. anywho i got the specs and put it together. as i was putting it together i notice how wonderfully organized everything was.(bolts in ziploc bags and named and kept together) when i got to the bearings i was a little bit fustrated. judging by the way everything was organized i figured that this guy who took it apart knew what he was doing. there was only one new rod and crank bearing and the others were old. had a gut feeling to check clearance and possible relace all bearings but decide just to put it together. now i regret it. spun a bearing (that new one i questioned) and the machine shop said the only way to fix this crank was to weld and grind. i dont like the idea of grinding down my crank so i said fuk that in getting a new one and thats where i stand now. i saw a g20 in the junkyard and i wanted to see if the crank were the same so i'm doing some homework now. anyhelp will awesome.

what he's saying is goto your local engine parts store and get a FWD SR20DE crank kit with bearings included if you want to be lazy. Or find a junkyard SR20de engine and mic the journals and get bearings to fit. I prefer to not use graded nissan bearings as they're horribly over priced. It's usually cheaper to get the crankshaft ground the next undersize if you can't use STD.
