What do you guys/girls think of Tenzo seats, the Rally and yes, the Type "shivering" R? What about Arospeed seats? I say these brands cause Sparco is WAY overpriced and so is Recaro. Well Corbeau is nice, but anyway...Tenzo??? Arospeed???

Personally seats are one of those choices that you need to make on your own. Dont let anyone tell you whats good or not.
To find a good seat for YOU actually requires you set in them. Some seats are for fat bastards and others are for skinny runts like me. What im trying to say is dont buy a seat unless you have sat in it and now it feels right... Trust me a 2 hour drive is worth it if need to be to get you to a shop that has them. Hit some scca/crown events and ask if you can set in peoples cars(that might have seat your looking for). Since your looking for knock off seats you might want to hit a local club or import shop that specializes in hondas and acuras... my local shop as them....

I agree with what sil80 said... don't buy a seat that doesn't fit you well.
Also, in terms of quality, you absolutely get what you pay for. Sparco, Bride, and Recaro seats are expensive because they're a substantial upgrade over stock. If this is just for looks, go ahead and buy the Tenzo/Arospeed/etc.

sure, there's no need for the sparco's, or any other decent seat if you won't be running it at the track. but if you won't be running at the track, you really don't have a need for seats then do you? so yeah, i'd say that's pretty "ricey"
harsh, yeah.........but you don't go around insulting sparco and expect to get away with it <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

The main thing is a seat that is good quality, comfortable, and functional (yes, racing).
And yes, i understand that you do get what you pay for, but i think its absolutely ridiculous to pay 600 freakin bucks (Sparco Torino) for a dang SEAT. The only reason you'd need the seat in the first place would be for the brackets for the harnesses...so why pay 600 for Sparco's, when Tenzo's and/or Arospeed's do the exact same thing for hundreds less....

The thing is they dont do the same thing. Sparco, recaro, and bride all put a lot of time into designing so the driver is in absolute confort for his race. Then you have knock off companys that make a look a like and sell it cheapers. The think is that the knock offs might not have the correct lumbar support or correct height vs width design for the desired buyer.
Good example is the do-luck bars that was just posted(which I bought). They were posted as do luck bars(false advertisment) and now we are figuring they are knock offs and a bitch to install... we dont even know if they will brake or not..... point being...
Knock offs = cheap product(usually)

here's a question for you.....what's that aerospeed seat made out of? i bet it's not near as high quality of materials as the sparco..............actually.......fuck it.......i don't care......go buy your damn aerospeed seat.......because if you don't already know.......... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

friend has a set of corbeaus in his CRX. nice enough but they don't fit me at all. i think that's the most important part...sample first.
and travis is right...buy cheap seats and use them for a while. they will wear out and flex. oh, and sparco is NOT overpriced. bride is. recaro can be. sparco is actually very reasonable for the quality you are receiving. i'll take to Evo 2 seats please...black.

I say get what you want.
I feel your pain I am in the process of getting either the B&M (which I want) or the OBX (cheap alternative) but just don't have the funds for the B&M <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('> It sucks but I am just going to save and get what I want instead of what I can afford

The evo 2 is way to wide. I want something that hugs me. Maybe a rev or evo... not sure what im going to get.. I have a contact to get a rev for 350 so when I get the money its mine.
Nrcooled - I should have the b&m this week... I slowly saved for this for 3 months... I hope its worth it <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

i was saying the Evo 2 (maybe Evo 3...prolly not) for me...not you. it's the same as the Evo but 3 cm wider. works well for my 6'2" 220 frame.
the b&m is worth it...but just be ready for some noise. it's not silent like the shifter you have now. i don't really think they could make it fully silent unless they make it two-piece like the others. it's the sweetest shifter i've used. miles better than the OBX it replaced. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

You get what you pay for. A seat is more than a foam pad for your butt. There is a lot of safety built into a good seat.
Of course, the OEM s14 seats do everything I really need them to - safely. Otherwise, my next seat will likely be:

$105.95 (padding not included). <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Somehow I fear the fire resistance of grandma's pillows <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/butbut.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':but:'> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
For driving back and forth to venues (until I get a rig), I hope to use those gel seat pads. I think they'll fail for fire resistance, but after sitting on some at the Prada $tore, they are not only pimpy as hell, but damb comfy!

Now THAT's a racing seat! Most of the high-dollar seats people buy would be better described as a sports seat.
A bit too much for my 240SX, though, which sees mostly street duty.

so you're telling me the full carbon bucket in my uncle's 911 is not a racing seat because it's actually comfortable and doesn't poke you in the ribs like a Kirkey? i disagree. a Kirkey is a budget seat and the best part about it is that you can adjust it yourself to hug your body. other than that, MANY other seats are better, more comfy, and safer for your ribs.

Fit is all that matters to me. I am a wide well built guy. Momo's doesn't have 1 seat that fits, and Sparco's have trouble fitting me unless I get the wide ones. I was resently in a torino had to complain that the seats were too kidney brutal. That was the only support place so I can just imagine the beating my kidneys would take. If you want good seats don't get adjustable ones. That is what everyone bitches about "these are too much" well, the most comfertable seat I have been in is the cheapest non adjustable sparco there is. I think it rings in at about 250 bucks. Fiberglass frame, light seat... Also I think they are the "pro 2000" sparco series or something, I found those great too, but I have not liked a single adjustable seat yet. If you are more than 200 pounds... you have a tough time gettin seats.

No, I was referring to seats like the Recaro Sport that came stock in my friend's GTI 337. Awesome seat for a daily driver. Damned expensive. Lots of people call them "racing seats" - which it isn't.
The Kirkey is a budget racing seat, the full carbon bucket in your uncle's car is a high end racing seat.
...and a Tenzo R is a park bench with red fabric stretched over it <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>
