Ok, so my situation is that I have stock calipers now, and I'm going to switch up to 300zx (30mm alum) in the front. The potential problem is that I have a set of 300zx stainless brake lines (came with the calipers).
From what I gather 300zx brake lines dont exactly work with s14 chassis. It appears that on both the front and rear nissan ran hard lines from the caliper to a bracket, and then rubber brake lines from there to the chassis hard line. Is this the case?
If so is there any way to be able to use my 300zx stainless front lines? I know (from importnut) that in the rear I can modify the bracket to move the caliper hardline up and still use the 300zx line, but I couldnt find any information on using the 300 stainless line in the front.
Finally, The guy gave me r32 hardlines to use with these brakes, but I dont know if they are front or rear....how can i tell, and will these help me to use the 300zx stainless lines that I have or what?

ps- thanks, and yes i searched but couldnt find where this was adressed.

front lines will have a piece that attaches to you strut/coilover that rear line doesn't.

what? im confused...

i do have more info though...the lines i have are good ridge. i THINK they replace the hardline in the front because in the middle of the line they have 2 pieces. I think the first is to go into the strut mount, and the second goes where the hardline mounts near the caliper.

so i THINK from nissan it goes caliper->hardline->junction at bracket where hardline and softline connect->softline->softline bracket at strut->more of the softline->chassis hardline....
meanwhile i THINK this goodridge line goes: caliper->goodridge line->no junction but metal piece on line that goes in the first bracket->more goodridge line->metal piece that goes in strut bracket->more goodridge line->chassis hardline.

anyway the simple question really is, will my goodridge 300zx lines work for the front of my 240? if not what do i need?

And yes i'll probably just sell these 300zx lines and get some actual conversion lines, but i already have these, so i'd rather use them instead of going through the hassle of getting new ones and selling these

The front stainless lines will work if you have the small (4-5 inch) hardline that mates to the caliper.

You'll know if your Goodridge lines eliminate the hardline if they have a Male and female end. (male goes to caliper, female to hard line under fender). If your goodrige lines have two female ends then you'll need the 300zx stock hardline to attatch to the caliper......make sense?

fyi, I used to have a set of Goodridge lines before I swapped out to Agency Power lines. They did not eliminate the small hardline so I would be a bit surprised if yours did.

my goodridge lines do have 2 females, just as yours did....so maybe thats why the guy gave me r32 hard lines.....i looked again and the package says front on them, but im unsure how i would mount them since its going on a s14 spindle and not a z32 or r32.

so my goodride lines should work with the r32 hardlines that i have???

I cant be 110% certian but since R32 calipers are the same as Z32 then you should be fine. All the calipers have the same brake line fitting as far as I can remember. The spindle has nothing to do with your conversion.

Basically all you'll do is connect the stainless line and the short hard line together (male to female) and essentially create one line. Then attatch the braided (female end) to the car's hardline under the fender, and the R32 male end to the caliper. That's it. My old Goodridge lines didn't have a fitting to mount them nicely on where the 240's lines attach to the strut mount (the part where to put the pin retainer clip) So you can just zip tie them in place however you see fit.

Even the conversion lines are female on both ends, one in -an and the other is flare! There is a fitting that screws into the back of the caliper that adapts it to -an and then the line goes to that. If you have a conversion line it will have a 45 or 90deg fitting on the -an side that goes to the caliper. Otherwise you need the 300Z hardline and 300Z softline. Im sure you could make the R33 hardline work with some patients but honestly, I whould just spend the 50$ and get the right lines. Then you can just sell the Z32 lines

thanks for the heads up, but I bought spl's technafit lines that should just plug right into the calipers 10mm IF fitting.

kinda interesting that project nissan terminates to an and then adapts to 10mm IF...probably couldnt find any 45 deg IF fittings

anyone want to buy some brand new goodridge 300zx lines !? :) :)
