okay, so i finally fired up my rebuilt KADE the other day, i had a not to loud intermittent whisle for about a day. soon after the whistle became constant. every day the whistle gets louder and now it drowns out the exhaust even with the hood closed. what could this possibly be? (is comming from the intake mani)
just some backround info: secondary butterflies removed and plugged properly, egr blocked off and egr diaphram removed. spraying starting fluid in the area beetween the #3 and #4 runners raises the idle and increases vaccum.
on a side note, is a thin film of liquid gasket supposed to be applied on the mani gasket?
Thanks to anyone with a serious response!

If It's comming from the intake mani, you maybe didn't torque it down proprely. I didn't apply a gasket maker to my cork gasket

Wait so you are supposed to soak the cork?
With gasket maker?
I didnt know that.
Definetly sounds like an intake manifold leak.

my dads a muscle car guy and he said that hes never heard of anyone not applying a thin film of liquid gasket onto an intake mani gasket. i have no idea though. couldnt hurt right?
i just finished pulling the mani off, the gasket looks mint. (new oem installed ~2 weeks ago) im trying to go over it with a fine tooth comb and make sure it is assembled properly.
is there any spots on the mani known to be problematic? thanks again for the responses
i just have a sneaking suspiscion that some valve is fubared and blowing out air :sadwavey:

maybe try pinpointing the leak with an aim a flame lighter if you still have problems when you put it back on.

On my previous motor I cleaned the head/mani with a wire wheel which in turn messed up the surface on them. Without some RTV on the manifold gasket, my intake would not seal up. To me it sounds like you may want to put a thin bead on, and get it back together.

If spraying starting fuild around the intake manifold raise the idel then you have a vacuume leak in that area
