Hey guys my car has been sitting for about a year and ive started it every 2 months or so and its been about a month so im gana start it again right now but ive had a full tank of gas (91 chevron if it matters) the whole time and Ive heard so many different things about when gas goes bad ive heard a month, 6 months, 1 year, 6 years I think 1 year is the point where I better ask if its safe for my SR to start up my car and rev it up a little bit with the old gas.

Well my real question was since I wanna get that gas the fck out of my car and put fresh gas in there, is it okay for the motor or car to let it run and waste all of the gas at about 1k idle or is the gas still kinda okay and drain it and put it in my crappy car?
Thx in advance

my 240 sat for a yr b4 i had my licence, just started it up and drove it up and down my small road once a month or so and i had no problems. but that was stock KA. id sugest just take a little road trip, drive civil and burn it up. maybe getting it down to half and then putting some 93 octane new gas in might help too.

Seafoam is a fuel stabilizer, get all that old gas you can out of the tank, then put a half a tank in of good gas, with half a can of seafoam, run it out, then repeat.
Replace plugs and O2 sensors and shit. That is what I did a couple years ago, with no related issues since

just pull the fuel feed line,

its the one on the fuel filter,

pull it, and let it drain into a bucket, then refill your tank.

who knows what could be in your tank, or lines for that matter.
